Just bought FA* 85 portrait. Paypay credit so I can smooth it out. Great price perfect condition.

I don’t need to wait for the modern 85 at 1500, 1800.

31, 43, 77, amigos! Normal 50. Now 85. The k-1 kit lens. I’m done. May do a wide angle later as we travel. Not sure.

All APSC stuff going on marketplace as discounted bundles. Soon.

K-3 k-5 grips lenses telephoto.

The above my setup. Will add no more other than a super wide. Maybe

Testing Batteries?

I used to put dates on my batteries. Now I just carry four. AA and AAA are notorious for failure. If I use I use normal ones.

Granted, my good stuff is about portraits.

When I travel I take only the kit lens. I’m living life not trying to find the perfect boku.

Kit lens I mean some kind of general overall good zoom lens.

One lens move like a Jaguar see as much as possible.

You can do anything with an unlimited special effects budget. Like land a vehicle in AZ and tell ppl it’s the moon.

Look at the size of the feet pods. Those are for 16 feet of space dust so it won’t sink. They sorely messed up giving a quarter inch of dust.

Which lenses do you use for portraits or do you recommend?

I e been taking the same birthday portraits for 8 years. BTW I started small with a *DST and plast fantastics but quickly grew.

Birthday shots are outside. I use the FA 77 for certain shots with lots of bokeh from way back ( full body). For close in either half body or both of us us FA 32.

When I can afford will get DA*85 and maybe add a face shot.

I’ve used the normal 55 1.4 for some impressive portraits as well. I only got the 43 this year and have not used.

I would start with the 31 and 77.

The 77 is magical. But you need the distance. ( never tried close up admittedly)

On the back the button that does timer white balance etc I want to adjust. But it just adjust the focus area top to bottom and left to right.

Book said put in standby mode.

I’m not sure how.

Thanks.

We just don’t know. Flag waving in zero atmosphere. Supposed 32 feet of moon dust only 3 inches. No stars I can agree with aperture.

All evidence points to a really big movie budget.

Ah

In other words. Wait a few years to buy a modern lens.

Stop buying ancient lens.

I’ve done my daughter birthday portraits 6 years. APSC.

FA 31 limited delivers best overall shots.

FA 77 limited delivers pixie dust pop pics.

But you must practice. 31 not so much.

I did one year on a budget DA* 55. Came out great. Not the same but not embarrassing. That is a budget lens.

I shoot one bokah one auto in case I messed up.

I wanted it for a long time. I’m trying to curb my lens addiction.

I think I’ll get one more. At least for the next couple years ha ha.

I was thinking the non-kit FF other lens. I forget like 24-70. I’m searching now.

I have the FA 77.

How does that 85 compare and does it enhance my life ?

I wanted it bad way back. Not so much now with FF. Just curious.

Thanks to all.

Factory reset works perfectly.

All my APSC stuff going on marketplace soon.

I’ll keep the three amigos the DA*55 and the two radioactive manual lenses. Although I’m willing to sell one.

Something up. Digital kit lens acting same way.

---------- Post added 02-17-19 at 05:15 PM ----------

Not sure. I took a Tony Northrop tutorial. Changed stuff.

Factory reset. Works fine.

I will clean. No F— not problem.
Won’t use pic button to focus. Won’t see aperture automatically.

Crazy numbers to get zero on light meter.

---------- Post added 02-17-19 at 05:00 PM ----------

Cleaned lenses and camera. Twice. Same results.

Same behavior with DA• 55.
1/4 second F1.4 ISO 200.

Something not right.

This one has no aperture ring.

I am also confused ISO stays at 12800 no matter what.

---------- Post added 02-17-19 at 12:54 PM ----------

Appears to focus using the AF button but not picture button.

---------- Post added 02-17-19 at 12:57 PM ----------

Also it does not like keeping low F stops. Tries to go higher. Blinks.

---------- Post added 02-17-19 at 12:58 PM ----------

The light metering really messed up. F1.9 1/4 seconds and ISO 100 in M mode gives even light meter.

---------- Post added 02-17-19 at 01:09 PM ----------

Can move iso

I got locked out. So it’s me but a new account. This time I made it where I can remember.

Camera reads F now. But no line under AF lever.

Where I am now. It does not auto focus. Nor does then viewfinder light up. It only does full click to pic no focus.
