As bokeh I like the one of the Schneider-Kreuznach Makro-Tele-Xenar 75mm F2.8 on the Q-S1 especialy at F4; for what I read but I don't have the lens (because of its cost) the Tokina 90mm F2.5 macro 1:2 that is present also as Vivitar 90mm F2.5 macro 1:2 has a great bokeh.

Thank you for sharing. It appears that you had plenty of time to plan. I love that you know enough not only to set up such a shot but also to criticize it. I would never have known that a simple change in f-stop could improve an already amazing shot!
Cheers,
Loyd

The year was 1992 and I had just transitioned off the streets and on to stable housing. I had always loved photography so I managed to scratch up forty bucks and went to a local pawn shop to see if they had any cameras in my price range. Sure enough there was a beat up Pentax K1000 in the glass case. The salesperson was willing to sell the camerea for 40 bucks on the condition that he could not guarantee it. I took the chance and went to a local drugstore a couple of blocks away and purchased a roll of Tri-X. It really felt great to be walking the streets again with a camera. I remembered that there was a meal van that would stop at a location in downtown Milwaukee to feed the less fortunate. Since I recently transitioned off the streets myself I knew most of them. There I met Don and Katrina, Both 19 and living on the streets. They,Like the others standing behind them, Were waiting for the Van to arrive. Hot soup and sandwiches will provide a brief yet welcome respite from the chill of that october day. When I saw Katrina lean onto Don's shoulder for support I released the shutter. The image took first place in the regional KINSA 'Kodak International Newspaper Snapshot Awards' in the Milwaukee Journal in 1993

My life is shaped by the urgent need to wander and observe, and my camera is my passport.
- Steve McCurry
This year I was only able to venture out for one photoquest to capture the annular eclipse in New Mexico.
The remainder of the time I spent wandering about the local region to try my luck clicking at whatever
happened to catch my attention, and just maybe some of these shots you might enjoy viewing.
Hoping next year will provide everyone great opportunities to visit interesting places and capture some great Images...
Happy New Year!

I've posted three images so far and now have decided on the others throughout the year.
I got this surfer image in September, around sunrise with the morning glow behind the pier and all of the spray in the air, it's one I like. Sunrise Surfer by Tom Ramsey, on Flickr
I took this Clapper rail in April, an interesting and secretive bird of the salt marsh, the more I learn about their habits, the more of them I have seen. They are closely related to the coots, you can see that when the swim and walk. Clapper Rail by Tom Ramsey, on Flickr
The Atlantic Ghost Crabs are fun to watch as they scurry about and go in and out of their holes at the beach, taken in June. Atlantic Ghost Crab by Tom Ramsey, on Flickr
I saw more Green Herons this year than I ever had, this one in June, which is quite welcome. Green Heron Stalking Fish by Tom Ramsey, on Flickr
Back to Lima, Ohio in September, Bresler Reservoir is a great spot for sunsets and the ensuing evening twilight, even better when you can get a fishing boat. Peaceful Evening by Tom Ramsey, on Flickr
Maybe not a great photo, but a favorite of mine because it was such a surprise. On Topsail Island in Surf City is a little park with a quarter mile boardwalk out into the salt marsh, I usually go there right after I've been to the beach for sunrise. On this particular morning I saw a coyote running out from under the boardwalk, at a place where I know a lot of birds to nest, like the clapper rails. My surprise was seeing a coyote there, and to top is off he was all black, the coyote ran out about a 100 yards and hid in the grass watching me. Coyote Watching from the Salt Marsh by Tom Ramsey, on Flickr
Another picture from April of sunrise from Serenity Point. Serenity Point is at the South end of Topsail Island, it's around 2-3 miles from my house on the mainland. To get there I drive North about 10 miles to Surf City, cross the bridge to The Island, drive South about 10 miles, then walk about a mile along the beach in the dark, so you hope for a good sunrise, of course I'm also hauling the telephoto because there are usually seabirds hanging out on the beach. Seaside Morning by Tom Ramsey, on Flickr
My last is from July, I was in my kayak in the salt marsh and I started seeing these fish jump. It's kind of strange, the move together and several jump, you can see where they are moving under the water, because of the turbulence they creat close to the surface. I happened to catch the most I've ever seen jump at once, didn't nail the focus but I'm glad I got this one. Jump! by Tom Ramsey, on Flickr

Thanks. I'd love to get a K-3 Monochrome and have a go at The Superstitions, but that's outside my budget right now. Here's another one from the same place (Lost Dutchman Park), also with the DA 16-85: |

So many incredible images! Probably my favourite so far — the one that made me scroll back and look again — was in the post just prior of Watson Lake, by cooks333.
Here are a few of mine that have been making me happy. All bird photos from two very special locations. All photos with KP & DA 55-300 PLM.

And here's second set of 10 from me. Taken between June and December:
The Dark Hedges is definitely an over-run tourist spot (though 6 trees have been taken down since this photo was taken and more are at risk) but there weren't many people here on this day. The weather was lousy but cleared in late afternoon and the light was gorgeous. I should really clean up that fringing... DA 70 Ltd, K-1 II: IMGP7610by Tim Wilson, on Flickr
This photo was taken one chilly October morning from the balcony off my bedroom in Washington. Mt. Pilchuk and birds... DA*300, K-1: IMGP9221by Tim Wilson, on Flickr
Not a great photo, but the sound of all those snow geese squawking and their wings beating as they flew over our heads was intense and amazing. DA*300, K-1 II: IMGP9433-Edit-3by Tim Wilson, on Flickr
I discovered, on a walk in South Whidbey State Park, how good the D FA 21mm Ltd is in a relatively dark forest. D FA21, K-1): Green- IMGP9796 by Tim Wilson,on Flickr
I had the DA*300 mounted for birds at a distance and wasn't expecting this close encounter with an osprey (this is uncropped). Focus is a bit off but it's a keeper anyway. Anna Maria Island, Florida on 12/23. DA*300, K-1 II: IMGP0686by Tim Wilson, on Flickr

It's definitely the most under-rated of the film era variable telephoto zooms. It was designed around the same time as Pentax's first limited lens, the FA 43, and its designed seems to have fallen a bit influence of the limited lens philosophy and its stress on the aesthetic qualities of lens imaging. The color, contrast, and rendering of the lens make it stand out among the zooms.
