It wasn't in my yard. It was in a big field that I venture into.

I followed this one for a while in order to take photos. I had to be aware of my shadow when I got close to it. It spooked very easily.

I think this one is a male, based on the size of the yellow spots, and the faint blue on the hind wings. The female has smaller, less brilliant yellow spots, with more remarkable blue on the hind wings. Here's another shot of the same butterfly.

I photographed this male, Eastern black swallowtail with my K-3 and a 55-300mm lens. I followed it and ended up taking lots of photos.

What a great run of photos! A White-breasted nuthatch on a feeder. They are the most vocal of the birds that visit this feeder, and are always entertaining. I took this with the K-3 and a 55-300mm lens.

Thanks, It's a Wind River Wild knife. The blade is CPM3V, and the handle is pine cone in a blue resin.

The K-1 is on my wish list. I'll probably look for a clean, used , body only. I currently own a Pentax K-3 and a Canon 7d mark II,. Both are excellent APC sensor cameras, but I yearn for a full frame.
