@carabez Excellent work!
@Simon K :) I'm looking forward to see more of your thoughtful work.
As for vehicles... K100D again.

I too dislike that kind animal pain just to get human joy. I have only go to that expos about three times in my whole life.
But I have many cowboys friends that makes a living and enjoys their cows business.

@carabez Good shot but a poor bull. :( I don't think it enjoys the ride too much.
@Simon K Welcome back and nice bokeh shot!
As cars are popular in this club - this is well - something a little bit older. :)

I've very happy with my copy of that lens.
I've been looking at all of my photos taken with it, and only by pixel peeping found one candid that exhibits a bit of the same behaviour.
I don't know if it's exactly the same we are seeing here, but the conditions looks like yours.
Exif: 1/800 s f/8 ISO 100 210 mm
I will say that it's a very seldom phenomena for me and I haven't noticed it if I hadn't look for it.
The second image is a 100% crop from the first.

I've taken thousands of photos with this lens (two copies), but I don't recall ever seeing this, even in very bright conditions with many specular highlights:
I think it's the particular copy. You need to decide whether it's a deal-breaker for you.

UPDATE!
I've uploaded some new PP3 files. There are some major noise reduction changes for higher ISO files (1600 to 51200). I removed all PP3 files past ISO 51200. Who the heck shoots that high? Hahaha! Well, some do, but probably very few. I think the camera does a better job with an OOC jpeg at that point.
If you own a 16MP Pentax body, you should check out the PP3 files for the Pentax K-50. You K-3/3II owners are lucky too. I spend lots of time developing for the K-50 & K-3II, since those are the ones I have. I'm trying to extract the last pixel of information out of all RAW files.
Backup your old PP3 files before removing them, just in case. I'll eventually put up a new Windows 64bit build in my Google Drive. The one in there is still old, but you can download it & replace the PP3 files in that build with the new ones.
Have fun!
