Strange that it’s a unused film without a box as I never take one out of a box till I put it in the camera , just tried to do what tvd said and the film doesn’t move at all no matter what direction I turn it

The take-up reel that’s on the side that says “100-24” right? Turn it which way left or right?
I never took films out of the boxes till I need to put them in the camera and I remember early 2000’s some started putting film in silver sealed packets then into the boxes , I don’t have my pocket camera anymore went through quiet a few cameras back then & got rid of the previous ones when I got another but kept all the negatives,

Just wondering if anyone knows if this is the start or the end of the film as I can’t remember as i haven’t used one of these film Cartridges Since 1999 & wasn’t sure if it started with these arrows then the numbers or the numbers then the arrows to say it had ended , I found this film in a old bag while I was cleaning the loft out & I obviously put it in the bag back then without realising it & during that time I was 17/18yrs old & going to see bands & other celebs & the film might have those lost memories on if it’s been used as I did lose a few films back then so I hope someone can help me ,

Will have a look at amazon then, I’m in the uk so have checked my local pharmacy which is £7.99 I remember when it used to only be £2.99 & getting the pictures done used to be £2.99 but even that has gone upto £8 for 24 exposures , the pharmacy shut down their photo printing & just left the digital machines hopefully the other photo shop does it or I have to post my film off, just wish I had room in my house for a darkroom be so much easier

Thanks will use a 400 in future then only ever use a 200 before even in a studio for portraits at college & outside ,Over here the shops only sell 125/200 black & white & 200/400 colour I can’t find any other asa , since digital came in it’s been hard to find different asa & the price of films have gone up really high so has getting the film developed & places have stopped doing film only digital machines 😞 how long does a film last if it’s still untouched in the original box? I’ve found a brand new film in my camera bag unopened but it’s been there since 2005 🤷*♀️

Hi just done that and the light meter has changed to red and green seems it will only go green on f2 to f11 anything above that is yellow and only goes green outside or if indoors only when aiming towards the windows when it’s nice and bright out, it’s nice and light in the house but doesn’t seem to go green unless I turn it to 400 asa then a few places in the room seem to go green and the ones that are still yellow the shutter sound is still quick, but if using a 200 Asa would having it on a 400+ ruin the photo/film?

The speed dial is set to asa 200 have never taken it off that and the small lense says it’s 0.45m to 15m it’s always shown green before when I used this lense & asa etc when I used it quite a few years back for college 🤔

I’ve changed the settings on the lense from smallest to biggest but that doesn’t make any difference, I make sure everything is in focus etc but only the yellow light is ever on 😞

I brought new batteries today & found out when I took the old ones and then put them back in I had put them upside down and that was why it didn’t work 🤦🏼*♀️ But confused why the shutter was still working if the batteries were connected like, I have now put the new batteries in but the camera still shows the yellow light no matter where I point the camera I tried the garden in nice light and in the house with reasonable light but only yellow showed up but the shutter did shut quicker when the room was much brighter but stayed on yellow, just a bit confused why the light never changes to green or red as it used to when I used it years ago 🤷🏼*♀️

Welcome Bruce , do what I do when getting used to a camera etc go into the garden find a nice flower or something that looks photo worthy and take a photo then try all different settings even manual and change shutter speeds & iso etc on the same subject and see how they come out and you’ll learn what the settings do and know which way to turn the settings for quicker shutter and slower shutter etc for next time , just a idea ,

Did you take any photography courses?

I took a introduction to photography which was black & white photography & classroom based & learnt how to develop as well as studio lighting etc then I did digital photography which was classroom based which was all on the apple computers using photoshop & all night courses at my local college I did try do a AS level photography at another college which was higher level qualification but that course had more written work then actual photography & being dyslexic didn’t help so never completed it as they wouldn’t help me 😞 , but classroom based courses are good tho as you get real-time feedback & your not on your own when your doing the course and have more fun learning 😊

I took the batteries out to check what type they was and put them straight back in the same as they came out and the camera is set to auto even I was confused that when I pressed the button the shutter worked like it does on all the other settings but the light in the viewfinder wasn’t showing up But was before I took the batteries out , getting paid on Tuesday so will buy new batteries then and see how it works did have trouble at first finding the right batteries online as the batteries in the camera are from the 80’s and had the old battery name 10L14 but it’s been replaced now with LR44 so confusing

Hi,
I didn’t know about the battery at all so the battery has been in the camera since the 80’s I used the camera for my photography course in 2004 and it was working fine on auto then just not the last few years, I just took the batteries out to see what type they was so I Know what to buy and when I put them back in the red/green/yellow light doesn’t come up anymore and the shutter shuts normally , if the battery isn’t working does that mean the photos taken on auto won’t come out? And the B setting photos will? & would taking the batteries out affect the film that’s already inside the camera?
