That's brilliant thank you. Not sure why my searches did not discover it, I thought it might not exist.
It is a Bessamatic (and I have the body). It also came with a flash unit in the shape of a plastic egg!
Once again thanks

It's been a while since I posted here, so I hope the 'quick reply' is the way to ask a question
My wife bought me three used Voigtlander lenses, two are still in their leather cases and have their original lens covers.
They feel compact and beautifully made. I like quality manual focus lenses and I know to make them work with my K5. :)
- 135mm f4, Super Dynarex
- 35mm f3.4 Skoparex
- 50mm 2.8 Color Skopar X
However, I cannot find any reference to how to make these work with the K5 K mount, or any reference to the 135mm and the 35mm here on the database. They are not M42, they're smallish, three-sided bayonet mount.
Is this a dead end? I'd love to see how the colours and contract work on these.
thanks for your thoughts.
Stefan

I found them to be very very good at what they do. And reasonably priced.

DA 40 and K7 from JPG, handheld. Just getting my head around this new lens. Workmanship feels the same as M 50mm 1.7. Solid, smooth and reliable. |

Very well put. Just like all the moaning about the 645D: of all those carrying on about it, who actually bought one?

Nature takes us back to our raw state. That is her power over us. Inside herself she is also raw, but also fragile. And this is the fascination. Great forces shape things. Hills, canyons, storms and boulders-broken on faded and cold river beds. All manner of forces gather to reshape and rework, while they also wear and sometimes, unexpectedly break and tear. The forces and their work play a hard game out on all our lands and all our seas.
But alongside these great works, we see the smaller world of her works. The life forms so splendidly resolute - the delicate lines of a hot summer writ on an autumn leaf's veins, the tiny scrimshaw of a hard journey downstream inscribed on an ivory pebble no bigger than a wren's egg, or the rainbow finally surfacing in a tiny pearl of beach foam, droplets finally thrust up from the deep dark swirling reaches of the sea.
But I like to dig a little deeper into what is less obvious. When I walk into nature with my crowded noisy thoughts, it is the inner silence of nature I can hear shouting, challenging me to be quiet. It says "Just stop thinking and look without processing. Just be aware of what you see in colour and texture - and maybe more. Share in this silence of a raw but fragile state."
And if am luckier still, I will have my camera in my hands. And if I am even luckier I will have attached, that gorgeous example of the lens-maker's art as a result of this competition!

Imagine this, a new camera built to take both Pentax lenses and Ricoh GXR mounts, weatherproof, in leather. Perhaps pink.

And perhaps guiding the Pentax marketing staff might also be: "“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”

Quite agree. Most people use their business phone and address details for WHOIS registration anyway. I think the listings are provided so the public can discover who owns a site and make it just a little more difficult for people to do the wrong thing. In this case it might have been better to just send people to a link, but even so, I saw no malicious intent. If you Google "who own a website" or "who runs a website" the WHOIS link is in first and second place respectively.

DOF is very important to me. After seeing Samsung EX1, and realising that in macro it does have lovely DOF/bokeh I took the plunge, and decided the compromise was worth it, especially as one can now post process DOF (well perhaps not as well, but you can).
The benefit is an extremely sharp lens, no lenses to decide on and work-bag portability. And four dials, a marvellous design. And a myriad of shots I would not have taken otherwise. Sorry Pentax, your EVIL is a little too slow, but I will be keeping a close eye on what you release, as I have a great deal of faith in the Pentax product for usability and value for money. The itch always returns to scratch!

And the Samsung EX1 / TL500 its taken me by surprise too: so I bought one after the itch became too great for another camera. Exceptional build quality, great lens, feels like a miniaturised version of the original version of the Pentax KM (a K1000 with a depth of field preview and self timer I think the differences were.) Sees in the dark with its 1.8 lens. If only Pentax could bring something like this out, even with a quality fixed lens. I am finding it quite relaxing not to have to worry about lenses. Zenfolio | Stefan Carey | EXPERIMENTAL PHOTOS SAMSUNG EX1 TL500 Quote: Glad I'm not the only one. I was surprised at how well built and designed their EX1 is. |

Much obliged Rondec, that makes better sense now. If this is the case they are going to have work some magic. Although I have to admit I once owned a Canon S3IS which I think had similar sensor size, and took some excellent photos including a macro i enlarged to A3 (I have samples I can post).
From my limited understanding, if they pump up the MP count to hard does this trash the images? ( Even so I would rather use a quality sensor to get the best out of the few quality lenses I own. Perhaps the proof of the pudding is in the eating. But good fun to speculate nonetheless.

1/2.33", so this means about half an inch?

I was getting quite excited there, am hanging out for an announcement, as this may well fit my need perfectly.
The black cloth fantasy continues then!
Could someone answer this very basic question please: what is 1 / 2, 33 inches?
I have never seen a fraction expressed this way before. Thanks.

I think you are spot on in your assessment of parts availability etc. Each to their own of course! :) I have been obsessing over the K5 for months, but have started to realise I am missing shots during the work day: I work in the centre of Melbourne, just next to the city square with a long shallow water feature with lots of interesting reflections. (I think I scared some tourists one day as I noticed the water flow had been switched off and there fantastic reflections, and could not help telling someone pointing a camera at building that there was a great shot nearby. OMG)
Colours? H'mm I wonder how a transparent case would look? :)

Any news anyone? Am trying to decide between K5 and what might be a weatherproof mirrorless, and am thinking something small to carry makes better sense for my needs. Speculation on this seems to have died down. Surely someone has a leak they can drip feed us?
