I received my very first Pentax for my birthday recently from a fellow serious enthusiast and I am just learning about the camera. It is a new K-50 that arrived with the 18-55mm lens. My friend believes that this is a great first camera to enter the world of Pentax. My Father was a serious photographer and film maker and I enjoyed watching create images. Although he passed a few years ago, I was fortunate enough to receive his RolleiFlex camera. Although it is not in usable condition, it helped awaken a desire to further investigate the art of photography. My father always wanted me to take up the medium, but I was not interested. Now that he has passed, I feel closer to his memory when holding a camera.
With the help of my friend, I began helping him initially by shaping subjects and framing of images. After that, I assited him in editing what we shot and when he surprised me with the camera, I was inspired to create my own images.
He encouraged me to join the Forum because he feels that there are many wonderful photographers and resources that will help me grow my new found hobby.
In any event, I hope to be posting some photos soon and looking forward to your feedback.
