Astrotracer and large mm lens

Good day. Two years of great success using the Astrotracer on multiple lens/multiple Ap, Shutter and ISO settings -- until now: Sigma 150-500mm...set up all same- all working, and Sigma lens bells/whistles turned off: Shutter I am limited to no more than 30 seconds. If I go straight (True Bulb) this avenue works, but I rather not rely on yet another step (me) to keep consistent accurate shutter time. Any ideas why the 30 second ceiling? I can immediately tack on any other lens; perform the setup and all is great...so the possibility of internal configuration changes is not present.

Thank you.

The answer came to me earlier--backed up by fellow members. Thanks all.

Hi Adam. See my comments to Steve. Thanks.

Hi Steve. Took your advice and poked around with the custom image settings and their parameter adjustments. I have the firmware 1.51 however, this watercolor filter just does not recognize blacks and has difficulty with dark blue. See my comment and photos submitted to Adam. However, in the poking...oddly the better custom image is the Muted with parameters all at default with the exception of Tone of which Blue works best followed by red...go figure. Anyways the quality of picking up some blacks is noticed but still lacking. The pics supplied to Adam are not of the Muted custom images.

Regards.

TJWest. I too have been shooting film- 42 years. Switched to digital in 2019...good ole K1. The artistry, the trials and errors is not the problem. The problem is I see and find no information on the pentax brand beyond setting the ME and its three formats. (After ME is set -- what's the next steps?)

(RAW images still residing in memory card) ...Blacks are completely washed out with white; dark blues and browns are near completely washed out with white and the couple of tweaks through the Info button has no effect as the washout is pre-any adjustments. Any known remedies? Thank you.

Appreciate the thought. The Link is more about Interval shooting and does not provide the steps-by-steps for multi exposure.

Thanks Biz-E...…. I'm seeking the "how to do" on the three: (I can navigate to the ME and understand the 2-2000 available and the three modes but from that point I'm lost as to next steps) What buttons to push, what not, how to work whatever images are captured; what buttons rotate the images, what buttons to push to hold the project while another image is grabbed for a layer...etc.. There is good advice on the net for Canon products that describe in detail such how-to-do and more. Such as able to grab any photo still on the memory card and use it as your base or as a layer. On the K1 -- for starters I am wanting to take a pic of a guitarist; grab multiple exposures on the fingers working the sound hole...can do this out of ME with multiple images and stacking...but I'm thinking Multiple Exposure may be more convenient and possibly more eye pleasing...plus I'm just darn curious). In addition, taking these ME of the fingers working the sound hole as a base or a layer for say a photo full-figure of the artist and merging them.

Any Tutorials available? Seeking "hands-on" and step-by-step advice. There is little information available and it's all about the glamour and not about the guts. Thank you.

Astrotracer-Bulb mode...long exposure

Good day. K1 purchased (new) in 2018: GPS, Astrotracer, Precision Calibration-all in place and working. Bulb mode is set and active: On the monitor (top left) Astro Icon in place; on Monitor low right an additional Astro Icon will have a check mark in place contingent on pressing the round green button. Green button press also allows Bulb mode to appear on Monitor or Bulb mode not appear on Monitor and in its place shutter time exposure visible. Question: For Astrotracer to perform optimally (exposures over 30 seconds but certainly less than 90 seconds) do I need to have the lower right Astrotracer Icon reflect the check mark in the box and in doing so am I forced to use the Bulb mode as a true manual exposure? Likely, there are a few relationship variables between having or not having the check mark appearing in the Atrotracer box on lower right monitor. Thank you.
