I really hope they didn't pay too much. Plus a rebel? Don't get me wrong it can get you the shots if you actually know what you are doing. Especially the later models but I would never go into a paid gig without a dual slot camera. As for firing at the sky guess someone started to read the chapter in every photography book on bringing a Speedlite with you when shooting outdoor portraits but didn't finish. That and Shooting JPEG. I guess he wanted to make sure he never got work again.

Just torching my poor cat with flash using my 55mm 1.8
Note: A bit of post processing in Lightroom to bring out the sharpness since it was shot wide open and I ever so slightly missed the focus 5/10/19 by Peter Desilvey, on Flickr

Just got my Super Takumar 55mm f1.8 yesterday too late to do some outdoor shooting when I got it but decided to try it with my go to model (My Cat) using my speedlite pretty sweet lens. I might have a new favorite here

As I am sitting here I am watching 2 managers at my work try to take a picture for our company website with the Company Nikon DSLR. One is operating the camera and has never heard of using the wireless flash feature so he has the flash on the hot shoe pointing it everywhere but mostly up. Has also never heard of a flash modifier I see. The other thinks he is Spielberg and has to see every picture after it is taken. Camera operator is bouncing the flash in obvious TTL mode off the 30+ ft ceiling. I think we are on picture 50 at this point he is currently replacing the batteries in the flash. Pretty sure they have never heard of post processing either because they are scrutinizing for perfection. I'm just sitting here mildly amused knowing I could solve there problem with a flash modifier I could Jerry Rig in about 2 minutes with office supplies. Am I an awful person for sitting back and watching this?:lol::lol:

Took the 200mm Super Tak f4 out for a run today with less than ideal lighting. As you would expect sharpness is there color fringing is about what you would expect. Impressive.

Shot from my Super Tak 200mm f4 I just got today. Pretty nice lens. Just a Test shot of an interesting looking incense burner in my room. I didn't manage to muster up the energy after work to go outside and take her for a spin. More to come from this and others for sure

Didn't see anything in regards to this either. Perhaps it's not increasing immediately for existing subscribers since you agree to pay for a year regardless if its upfront or monthly. I mean for what you get it's not bad especially if they are going to add 1TB of cloud storage. I liked the 9.99 a month but still, Lightroom and Photoshop are such a part of my life at this point, I couldn't imagine using anything else. I've known photoshop since I was about 12 back in the early 2000s. Am I happy about the price increase no but at least they are adding something to it

So I am rather new to advanced photography. I always pushed my point and shoot to the outer limits and just recently got the funds to get an SLR. I did go for a canon because I am brand loyal to them due to my previous luck with their equipment. I was looking around and I started getting curious about older lenses. This led me to the M42 mount lenses especially the Super Takumar Lens line. That is mainly what got me into this forum to start with. I recently got a Super Takumar 135mm 3.5 from eBay which has impressed the heck out of me so far. The price was a steal and I really enjoy having that control in my hands instead of electronically coupled like they are with most of the newer STM and USM lenses. It definitely makes me think more before I take a picture which I enjoy. So far I have only had the opportunity to make a few shots with it during optimal daylight. I did manage to get a bit in to figure out how to properly expose flash with a chipped adapter. Full manual flash seems to be the key a point which should be obvious to any advanced photographer but me being new external flashes too me quite a bit to get right. I love the look of the lens and the way it renders color. I can't wait to find even more of these vintage lenses. I may even consider investing in Pentax equipment in the future as it seems to get pretty awesome results. Right now I am sticking with my 800D as its all I have. Anyways nice to see there are others that have good things to say about these lenses. Great to have a resource to help in my purchases.
