K200D Advice Needed

Got it. Right in front of my face. Just received the camera yesterday. Had a bit of trouble figuring out how to use it with the vintage manual lenses I’ll be using with it, but figured out it’s limitations. Biggest one is not being able to take advantage of multi- metering mode, especially so as this camera, unlike my mirrorless, doesn’t show you effects in real pre-shot time. Thanks for the re write. That pesky overt ambitious spellchecker often gets in my way without notice, as EyE too often neglect to give it the once over once done.

Seemingly because I’m shooting with vintage manual lenses without any connection to the body’s electronics, I’m shut out of all scene modes and multi-metering, so I’ll have to do whatever I need to do in post.

As stated above, I’m blocked from using the scene modes on the dummy dial, but more importantly than that is the fact that I can’t find the Tonal Setting section that contains choices for Bright, Natural, Monochrome, etc. Where is it hiding?

Slow & easy is the cornerstone of recumbent tricycling, akin to the traditional two wheeled variety in name only. Look up the contraptions on line & you’ll get what I mean, best kept out in the open air secret in the field, rightfully taking off like wildfire by those in the know. Whee particular club members fittingly label our brother/sister hood the Low Lifes. 😉

True enough, but as I already have the weather sealed body/lens combo, I’ll be using it as extra protection under cover in moderate rain, but also taking advantage of it’s weather resistant properties when facing a drizzle/light rain by relying on shooting without a cover..... while keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Actually that could do double duty in a pinch, as I’m an avid Recumbent Cyclist who takes his camera on trike trips. Only thing is that I don’t usually trike in wet weather, but this could tempt me. I ‘ll check out that bike lane.

Thanks, I’ll look into the jacket idea, as my camera will likely be protected enough so that a poncho wouldn’t really be needed for extra protection.

That previous post was mine. This one is for me, some sort of traditional type of poncho that won’t restrict my photographic movements too much while still keeping me relatively dry. I don’t intend to be shooting in heavy wind blown rain or snowstorms, just light to moderate moisture sprinklings & a wet walk around after the fact.

I’ll be using a Fujinon weather sealed prime, either the23mm f2 or the 16mm f2.8..... with a moisture blocking filter, of course. I rarely shoot with zooms in any situation anyway.

As a pre mirrorless lifelong Pentax shooter, I have a fairly substantial collection of Takumar M42 & K mount vintage lenses that I use on my mirrorless cameras. My Pentax DSLRs being long gone, I figured I would pick one up for a change of pace once in a while nostalgic shooting experience. Not needing nor wanting this to be the latest/“greatest”, and in fact looking for something different than what more modern cameras can offer, I naturally went for the CCD..... EyE’m Looking forward to it!

Can I get recommendations for a rain poncho that would be good for moist shooting conditions? On the more affordable side would be preferable. 😊

I have a K200D coming in the mail. Anything I should know about the best SD cards for it? Any limitations or requirements due to it’s age I should be aware of? Also, any AA battery advice?

Just picked up a Fujinon 23mm weather resistant prime to mount on my weather resistant Fujifilm X-T2 and covered it with the just now arriving Peak Design Shell weather fighting cover. A bit clumsy in operation, but it should work. Guess I’ll have to leave my old Taks for better days.

Thanks, guys. I figured as much, but figured I would float the question anyways in the interest in possibly coming across a feasible solution I wasn’t aware of. Consequently, I just ordered a Peak Design Camera Shell, looks like the best bet for my needs. Any other brand suggestions for a walkaround street cover would be welcome.

Nice to have a weather sealed body, but what good does it do a vintage manual prime lens shooter like myself if moisture seeps into the lens and through to the camera anyway. Is there a method to at least lower the possibility, like wrapping waterproof tape around the seam between the lens and body for example?
