Can anyone confirm if the Really Right Stuff L plate for the K1 fits the K1 II? I've searched the RRS website.but there is no mention of the mk II. Puzzled?

Thanks Jer. Sorry for the delayed response. Was in hospital for two weeks. Can't wait to get out and shoot more with the K100d.

Thanks so much! Being new to posting photos here, I wasn't quite sure what I was doing or if the image was going to show up. I love this old camera. It was basically a 'discard' and cost me less than $90. It is very intuitive and a 32 mb sd card is probably overkill. I am having fun with it! My wife is suspicious when I tell her what I paid for it.

Here is a stab at posting a photo. Taken with a Pentax K100D which I just purchased from eBay. |

Hello, I'd like to join the 'club'. Just purchased a k100D and here is my first shot. I am very pleased with the camera handling and color rendition. Pentax k100D, SMC Pentax F 50mm, 1/1000 sec, f/8, 200iso. Haven't attached a file before so I hope this works.

Thanks for the well wishes. I have surgery Tuesday, which will keep me out of commission for 2-3 weeks. Recovery will be just in time for Autumn color (fingers crossed).

Thank you all so much for jumping in. I also had a Pentax FA 31mm stashed away and I tried that and the autofocus worked fine. Now the backstory of how I had the 28-105 DFA lens. I purchased a K1 Mii and bought several lenses for that camera. Due to health issues, I have not been able to use it yet or try it out but that time is coming shortly.
I purchased the k100d on a whim last week, because of the CCD sensor. I don't know why I am so excited about that camera. My first digital SLR, now long gone, was a Nikon D100 and it had a CCD sensor. I always liked the images from the D100. It seems like the K100d is built much better than the d100. For my purposes, the k100d is just for enjoyment, it was less than $100, and seems to produce excellent images. I've always been a bit mystified about Pentax lens compatibility, but I thank you all for clearing that up.

Thanks. I have taken several shots using manual focusing and that works fine. So I have to look for a lens with screw-drive focus?

I am a total newbie to pentax digital slr's. I just purchased a used k100d..I know its old only 6.1 mp...and I am excited to try it out. I have mounted a pentax dfa 28-105 lens. The af/mf switch i have set to af (several times) but the viewfinder shows 'MF' and the lens will not autofocus. In the menu the focus mode is set to af-s. Am I missing something?

I may be interested. Is this still available? I have contacted another member with the same lens but haven't heard back.

Check the custom functions. In the owners manual it states that the frame counter can be set to count backwards using Pentax function 7. Functions start on page 76 of the owners manual.

New here in these forums. Not new to Pentax though—my first real camera was a Spotmatic F that served me well for many years. I have recently purchased a K1 mk 2 body and am considering the purchase of the Pentax HD FA 15-30 f/2.8 lens. I noticed however that there are no threads for a filter. While I don't typically use filters, I do employ a circular polarizer and sometimes ND filters. Is that not possible with this lens? Are there alternatives in this range where a filter can be utilized?
Thanks for your suggestions and guidance.
