Hello All,

I have been reading the Pentax Forum for a couple of years and have gained a great deal of information from all of you. I purchased a few vintage lenses today and while doing research on them decided to register on the forum. I am a NOVICE and HOBBYIST, so what I say only has the value of my limited experience over the past 24 to 36 months. Today I found the following at an antique mall:

Vivitar 28mm f2.5
Vivitar 35mm f3.5
Vivitar 70-150 f3.8
Tamron 60-300 f2.8

Each of the lenses appear to be in excellent condition, and I got all four for a total of $60!!!

About a month ago, I purchased the Tamron 500mm f8 Mirror lens with the Adaptall II mount and have been pleased with it.

I shoot Nikon and having the M42 and above mentioned manual lenses has me thinking seriously about purchasing a Fuji mirrorless camera to take full advantage of these lenses. Also, I recently purchased a Takumar Asahi 500mm f4.5 (42 Mount) and a Piesker 400mm West German lens with a 42 Thread Mount. I have had a ton of fun shooting these on my Nikon bodies, but can't wait to get a mirrorless and really see how they perform.

For anyone having tips on using such lenses on a Nikon, I am happy to listen to what you have to say. I shoot the D500, D7200, D300, Df, D800, D850, and D50. A friend gave me a Nikon F5 film camera but I rarely if ever use it.

I love to shoot sports, so my journey into manual focus lenses is relatively new. I also shoot birds in the southern California area but love shooting flowers, and portraits of my kids with the new lenses mentioned here. I love the look of the vintage lenses! As you can tell, I have started to collect such lenses, and it all began with the Pentax Asahi series lenses (135mm, 200mm, and 300mm).

Thank you all for the information you post as it is greatly appreciated by novices such as myself.

Be well.
