IT Works! Updated the firmwear and now I can shoot again! Thanks to all!
Didn't take any time to do this, once I located a 1GB card to put the update on!

I had a cord with my K100D camera when I originally purchased it, that would direct connect to the USB port of my computer and use the PDCU software. The cord has gotten itself lost, where can I get a replacement? The local camera shop just told me to use a disk reader. . .

I am just starting to learn how to do this upgrade to my K100D as well. Thanks to all that posted comments, and especially to Dan M for the written instructions.
One more question: where do I go for the official upgrade site?

Bob in West Jordan, Utah; I've used Pentax equipment since 1972. A few years ago, I bought a K100D and love it, am doing more photography and travel now and need to get it upgraded, etc., so I will be looking around and asking questions. Forgive me if I blunder ore use the wrong terminology, I'm still human in a digital age.
