Ah now there's something new. Yes thanks for pointing out to check "compass" mode. While I do check calibration with each new location, that's something I haven't yet tried. Thanks that is a good way to try that out.

Yes exactly! I've also read similar comments in Q&As, can't find the links but they're out there. ---------- Post added 07-29-19 at 05:14 PM ---------- Oops sorry I missed the first reply.
It's the elevation of the object. In my location Andromeda is nearly overhead.

After reading other forum posts the general consensus seems to be that an angle greater than 45 degrees creates trailing when using astrotracer. I'm using a K-1 and started getting into deep sky, and immediately noticed trailing when imaging Andromeda. It was at an angle greater than 45 degrees.
I am a previous successful user of astrotracer but the OGPS unit seemed to perform better than the K-1's internal sensors.
Anyone have any suggestions here or should I just invest in a tracking mount?
BTW here's a successful stacked image using 10 second exposures at 12800 ISO... Andromeda and M32 | Made from 15 light frames by Starry Sky ? | Flickr |

Compilation of 25 exposures each of 2 seconds at 100 ISO using the K-1's interval and averaging features. A rolling mist over the trees blended the colors together creating the rich sky seen in the photo.
