I don't think you are wrong at all. You are expected inour current society to gain a good credit rating. To get a good credit rating you need to borrow money via a loan, credit card and pay back that money without missing payments, then slowly you build up you credit rating. Go abroad and want to hire a car, you need a credit card. Pay for you car insurance or house insurance by installments, you will be credit checked. I happen to have a very good credit rating because I have had debt in the past and paid it off BUT I am now on a modest company pension, get my state pension next year but I have a credit card now with a £15000 limit and there is no way I could ever pay that off but my wife who has a bigger company pension, does not have as good credit as me. It's a system to keep you in debt unless you are very careful, our car is 2011 and we will not be pressured into buying an EV, or a heat exchange system or any other nonsense our government wants to promote

I am still shooting with a CCD camera, my Pentax K200D but I also have a nice old Nikon P7000 which also has a CCD sensor :)

Stunning photos and even more so considering you were using a 500mm mirror lens. I had a Bower 500mm lens which I have now sold, it was very difficult to focus handheld so I admire your shots greatly.

I already have the DA 18-55mm WR lens but recently bought the DA 50-200mm WR off E-Bay for £68. It's in mint condition and the quick photos I took with it in my back garden, show it to be pretty sharp.

To be honest I have found all my Pentax DSLR's to be a joy to hold and use but the K200D is particularly nice because it's not as heavy as a K3. I had a K7 and I loved the handling of that and also the KP, which I really regret selling (dam my GAS urges) :)

I took my Grandson who is Autistic to an animal farm yesterday and I took my Pentax K200D with it's 18-55mm WR lens. Here are a few of the photos :)

Some beautiful macro photos there. My first 35mm film camera was a Chinon CS and it had a M42 50mm lens with it.

There is so much software out there and I have tried so many different programs. I don't like programs like photoshop because I personally find them far too complicated to use. I have tried Raw Therapee and Darktable, did not like them either but on my Windows PC I have Luminar Neo, Topaz Photo AI, DXO Photolab Elite, ON1 Raw 2024 and my oldest piece of software that I still use, Photoscape X Pro. So my workflow tends to be Photolab for basic edit (it has the best lens corrections and clear view is amazing) then into Luminar Neo to enhance the image if needed plus I find it's erase tool much easier and more efficient to use than Photolab. Finally I use Photoscape to add any filter effects if needed and to frame and convert to jpeg but there is a lot of great software out there

I think the main problem is the viewfinder on the K200D is a lot smaller than on other Pentax bodies that I have owned, like the K7, K3 and KP but also it is a darker viewfinder because it is a Pentamirror design rather than a Pentaprism. The focus confirmation sort of helps although I find myself fine tuning backwards and forwards as the focus symbol and beep are very sensitive.

I have just bought a 18-55mm WR because I wanted a small walkabout lens with weatherproofing, it only cost me £39

If you are shooting in RAW, then the photos will look flat and dark until you process them in a RAW processor of your choice
