This is one of those silk worm/caterpillar things that hang from trees. To the naked eye they seem to float in circles but I’m happy the camera and lens combo could depict the strand of silk. I laughed out loud a few times while taking this picture.
I had to move really close and actually touch the strand of silk just above the worm with the upper section of the flash ring in order to stabilize its swinging movement (or so I thought). Because as soon as I touched the silk it began spinning violently in what appeared to be some sort of silly defense move.
I would love to hear from people owning both the 35mm macro and the 100mm macro. I love the rendering of this 35mm lens but having to get this close to my subject causes all kinds of other issues. Would the 100mm macro be the solution?
Thanks in advance

I was sitting in my car after a long day at work, listening to the rain hitting my car, contemplating my life choices lol. When I looked at the drops on the windshield they looked like stars in the sky and I remembered a quote by Carl Sagan "Across the sea of space, the stars are other suns."
Driver seat, camera pointing toward the front, light source was a bank next to the parking lot.
