Now that it's been a while outside, did any of you that use the Lab-box had good steady results with it? or is it easy to ruin some film with it?

I really appreciate this info, it is helpful to have some perspective on the camera market and see how it evolves.

I guess its not that important considering I can adapt to not having it, bring the 55mm or even go digital in low light situations.
If the image quality of both lenses is similar and the only differences are price and size, the f3.5 becomes more attractive. Still, I've read the f3.5 becomes softer in the edges while being more contrasty than the f2.

I bet it is, it will be a tough decision to make. Hope I can find one at a reasonable price.

Snapppy, Thank you for such a detailed answer. These kind of photos are exactly what I am looking forward with the SP.
Agreed, I'm not the best at being prepared all the time...

The Flektogon f2.4 is indeed gorgeous, yet expensive. I might consider it in the future.

That is exactly my main worry, I guess in low light situations I could always change it for the 55mm or the Helios.

Hi everyone,
I just received my fixed SPF but I can't get used to the 55mm F1.8. I guess I got comfortable with the FOV of my 23mm in a mirrorless Fuji, so I would like to find a sharp 35mm for my film camera.
Should I go for the SMC f3.5 or the f2? Is the difference on price worth it?
I also got Helios 44-2, so I am more or less used to the stop-down metering and I could consider any non-SMC 35mm M42 lens...
Thank you,

First of all congrats on that good looking camera.
I recently got another SPF which is currently being serviced by Hasegawa repair.
Just to add on the battery discussion, he did test the meter using a regular 1.5v cell and a rubber band. I believe the battery should be fine, so the meter might need an adjustment if you cant discard other reasons.

The Takumar 135/2.5 is an amazing lens. Just picked a SMC 55/1.8, a bit sticky but amazingly sharp. Now I need a 35mm to complete the setup.

I second the Yahoo Auction option, just got a great deal getting an old lens with barely no japanese knowledge. Google Translator is not perfect, but it is possible to understand most of the process.

Hi everyone,
I am a Spaniard currently living in Tokyo that just got his first film camera since I was a kid.
Its a Spotmatic F, currently being repaired, so I am really anxious to test it and get some photographs out there.
See you around.
