A few bugs from last weekend.
Dragonflies were emerging from the water and morphing after a day of heavy rain the day before. |

The last of the dune-re-edits and bin recoveries, at least for now. Perhaps I come back to them again in time to come. Hope you enjoy these dune pics.
Comments and critique, most welcome.

Went on a short hike this morning to get sunrise pictures, the clouds looked as of they had gone on vacation and we had clear skies, or so it looked a few hours before sunrise.
A large part of Hong Kong is in a geo park area with 140m year old weathered volcanic rock formations and the eastern parts of Hong Kong's islands are on the perimeter of the original crater.
Humidity was high just before sunrise which caused some low lying fog which became denser looking towards the horizon. This foggy layer obscured the sunrise over the ocean. But it did create a beautiful diffused light in changing colors as the sunrise unfolded.
I'll post some more pictures of the rock formations when I'm back at my computer, too cumbersome with my phone. |

Nankeen Night Heron, K3 DA*300, Tamron-F 1.4 TC:
In around 400-500 visits to Braeside Park I had seen one of these perhaps 5 times and caught one on camera (lousy shots) perhaps 3 times, they seem to be very shy. On the second last day of 2020 as I was arriving at the park I met up with one of the other guys as he was leaving, he had a great big smile on his face as he told me he got a shot of a Night Heron in flight. In my wanderings I arrived at the place he got his shot and after ten minutes I realised that what I thought was yet another Darter chick sunning itself was in fact a Night Heron!
Anyway, turns out a pair are nesting nearby and I've gotten shots on six days so far this year! This is one from today:

In 1 year, when Sony loose market share to Nikon and Canon on Mirrorless and that Canon and Nikon dont invest anymore in DSLR , Sony will annonce that the next trend is mirror and introduce 2-3 news models......Ok just a joke ;) Remember Sony is a Consumer electronic company first and foremost

My guess is that it’s a reference to one of their hits from the late 70’s - “Time for Me to Fly”.
