I have many lenses (zooms and fixed focals) but those used as "starter" and so on the cameras are the DA21mm on APS-C and the DA40 mm on FF.
Always ready for candid shooting and sometimes more than that. I agree with you the DA21 is often under-rated IMHO
I use it also on an old K10 (CCD sensor!) when I make B&W pictures for its special rendering
