Lock button jammed 150 to 450 mm lens

Hello,

My dad recently bought a 150 to 450 mm lens. Looks good so far, except the lock button on the lens only seems to work for 150 mm and not the other options. I could see this being a problem as I like to photograph birds in flight and the lens will likely roll back on its own weight when pointing the camera up.

Anyone encountered this issue before and know how to solve it?

Many thanks and kind regards,

Conor Rowlands

Hello, my dad is in Japan on holiday and is wondering if Pentax lenses are cheaper there than in Europe and where he could shop if they are. He is especially on the lookout for lens that is 150 to 450 mm f4.5-5.6. He will be in Kyoto as well as Tokyo.

Thanks

Sand under the shutter/focus button.

Hi all,

I seem to have some grit/sand in my shutter/focus button. It seems to be stuck down, so as soon as you turn it on it takes pictures, i have played around with it with no luck. The camera is a K-70, but I'm guessing the part is similar on most Pentax DSLRs. Do they just pop off if I get a nail underneath the plastic on/off label surround? I dont want to force anything, but I'm sure if I could get access to the actual button it it would easily free up.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Conor

Issue with Sigma APO 150-500mm lens after update for Penxtax K-70.

Hi all, thanks for taking the time to respond!

The lens doesn't have any OS settings. The only two buttons present on the lens are the AF/M switch and Lock/Unlock switch. I'm starting to think the issue stems from the update that Sigma carried out on the lens!

Thanks again,

Conor.

Issue with Sigma APO 150-500mm lens after update for Penxtax K-70.

Hello, I recently sent my Sigma APO 150-500mm lens {second hand on ebay} to Sigma UK to give it a software update so it could be used for my Pentax K-70. Since its return I have noticed that while I can now use it on the K-70, there appears to be an issue with the focusing. I've tried using both auto and manual focusing.; though the red dot focus appears through the viewfinder and the subject seems to be in focus, the picture itself comes out blurred.

I also own a Pentax K-50, which seemed to work fine with the lens before I sent it for the update that would allow for its use on the K-70. Now, it is also not working properly on the K-50.

Any ideas as to why this might be happening? I'm very tempted to send it back as I think it might have something to do with the update that they may have done to it.
Am I supposed to alter any camera settings for use with the lens?

Many thanks,

Conor.

Problem with sigma lens and k-70

Hello, I'm currently in possession of both a k-50 and a k-70. I recently bought a second hand lens from eBay which is a Sigma DG150-500mm (APO HSM). The lens works perfectly on the k-50 but for some reason, it doesn't work on the k-70. Whenever I attach it to the k-70, the camera completely freezes up and you have to remove the battery for it to turn off. I don't believe the issue is with the k-70 as all the other lens still work perfectly when attached to the camera.

Any idea why this problem is occurring and what's the best way to solve it?

Kind regards,

Conor
