From my understanding the 105mm 2.4 is very overpriced do to all the hipsters on YouTube while the 200mm is a bargain.

Pentax 67ii: 90mm VS 105mm VS 150mm. Which One?

Just bought the 55-100mm (mint WITH a hood) for $330. Also picked up the 200mm f4 for under $100 and a 1.4 converter for another $100. Still have the 135mm macro lens the camera came with.

Also picked up a nice Canon S90. Why, you ask? It has an optical lens 28mm-105mm which covers all of my Pentax lenses. I can use the Canon to take photos and experiment without worrying about film costs or time developing. In addition I can visualize what B&W will look like by setting the camera to B&W. I can take hundreds of photos and I see one that I really like I'll take the same photo with the Pentax and same focal length.

I'm very excited.

Thanks for the info. It's weird how the 50-100mm lens was over $1,000 13 years ago and now they are going for $300.

Very nice images!

What is a medium format f/4.5 equivalent to on full frame? f/ 2.8? I'm trying to find out if the 50-100mm f/4.5 is like a regular 2.8 zoom on full frame or not.

What do you guys think about the 50-100mm f4.5?

It seems like a too good to be true lens. You get wide angle and a normal lens, it covers most of the primes: 50, 75, 90, 105mm.

From my understanding it's even better for landscapes because of the f/32 I believe.

The 105 2.4 isn't as great for landscapes from what I've read, it really just shines at blurring the background.

So now I'm thinking if I should get the 50-100mm or the 90mm and maybe the 55mm or 45mm. What do you guys think? What's the downside to the 50-100mm besides the weight?

I currently have the 135mm f/4 macro (it came with the camera) and I'm looking to purchase one of the lenses in the title.

Of course the 105mm 2.4 is very popular lens but my question is, is it worth the price?

The 150mm is like $150, the 90mm around $250 and the 105mm 2.4 is $800+

I'm not sure if the price is worth it. What do you guys think? Also, I know there are 3 versions of the 105mm 2.4 but the first two versions are radioactive.

Also, are any of the 90mm or 150mm lenses radioactive?

What's the best way to clean the Pentax 67ii Waist Level Finder? When I look through the magnifier on top I see lots of little hairs. Do I need to use a blower and then a slightly wet cleaning cloth to get it all off?

3D Printed Shutter Speed Dial Adapter for Pentax 67 TTL Prism

I'm looking to buy the TTL Prism for my Pentax 67ii (I have the waist finder right now). Problem is, 95% of the ones for sale on ebay don't come with the little shutter speed dial adapter. You can buy them separately...for $90!

There's gotta be somebody out there who is making these adapters at home and willing to sell them for like $10 or so.

Has anyone done this?

Light Meter LCD Issue

I bought a SEKONIC L-508 light meter to use with my newly acquired Pentax 67 mark ii with waist finder. It was listed as mint and delivered from Japan.

When I got it the 3rd digit in the ISO on the LCD was not showing correctly, it was all broken up. So, for example, it would say ISO 40_ instead of 400. I requested a refund and the seller agreed. But today I went to use it and the display was working fine.

So anyone know what happened? It seemed to fix itself without me doing anything to it. Should I still return it or keep it?

Couple Questions on the Pentax 67 mark II

Just got this camera the other day with the waist level finder so I'm going to be shooting manual.

1) When shooting manual to set the shutter speed I just move the left knob to where the red triangle is?

But I noticed something weird. When, for example, I move the shutter speed to 500, and then move the little lever up or down next to the red triangle right next to the shutter speed, the display shows 350 or 750. So does the little level next to the shutter speed fine tunes the shutter speed?

If I set the shutter knob to 125 and move the lever up or down, the display shows 90 or 180.

I downloaded the manual but it doesn't state anything about what I wrote above.

Ok thanks, I just bought the camera but it still hasn't come in yet. By the way you guys are a bad influence on me. In addition to the Pentax 67ii that came with a 135mm macro f/4 lens I also bought the 55mm f/4 lens (the 67 version).

Pentax 67 120 vs 220 setting

I have the manual but I am still confused about this setting on the rear of the camera.

When the round circle is on the LEFT, that is 120?

So in this photo the camera is set on 220 film?

I just bought this camera and it comes with the ASAHI Pentax viewfinder but I see that the newer version just has "Pentax" written on the front. Is there any difference between the two finders besides the name? Is one brighter than the other one?

Buying a Camera From a Hot Climate Region

What are your thoughts on buying a camera from Hawaii? Everything I've read states that it's risky buying cameras that come from a hot climate because they have increased risk of fungus and other issues. Especially if it's a film camera that hasn't been made in 20+ years.

I really like the color rendering in your photos. It gives a vintage look to it. Are these straight out of camera or do you do any editing on the PC? I noticed your photos are taken with different lenses yet they all have that same look. Thanks.

Advice on Taking Portraits with K10D

Guys, good news, I think it's the K10D.

I just got back from another photo shoot, this time I took the other K10D and the 77 limited as well as the kit lens 18-55. Towards the end the photos were shot with the kit lens. These aren't the best photos, I was just trying to take as many as possible to see if there was any focus issues. You can see a huge difference in quality between the two cameras. I used the same settings on both cameras.

So does anyone know what the problem might be with the first K10D?

By the way the kits lens f/3.5-5.6 is very impressive (and sharp even wide open).

Also, I'd like to point out that these photos are even sharper on my computer. I have a basic membership so I ran out of storage to attach photos straight from my computer so I have to use flickr. Flickr degrades the quality very slightly. I can tell the difference when my photos are uploaded straight from the computer or when using a flickr link.

Out of about 100 shots I got 2 good ones.................................................

I tried everything that I posted in my last post. This was with one of the K10Ds and the 77 limited. I didn't have time to test the other K10D with the 77 limited.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I don't have any photos to post because I deleted all of the ones that were not focused. Reading everyone's post on here as well as other forums about the K10D focus issues I am going to try the following:

Using f 5.6 for portraits instead of 3.5
Using the center focus dot and first focusing on the eyes and the recomposing

if that fails using manual focus.

I need some advice here guys. I have two K10D cameras, on one I have the Amigo 31 and on the other the Amigo 77. Today I was taking photos of my 5 year old and most of the photos came out blurry. Now, my daughter was standing still and posing, so these were not action photos at all.

Settings:

We were outside in bright light
ISO 100
Aperature 3.5
Shutter speed was at least 1/500
I was shooting in Aperature mode
I had shake reduction on (should I leave it off?)

When I say that the photos were blurry, I mean the face came out blurry.

Now, I've shot many cameras before, Nikon D90, D7100, D700, Ricoh GR, Sigma Quattro Cameras, film cameras of all sorts and never had this problem before so I'm pretty sure it's user error.

And advice?

I even tried the using the center focus dot only and using the back focus button and recompose technique. Should I just use P mode instead? But that would kind of defeat the purpose of using a camera like this.

Is It Time To Buy That Back Up Camera Body?

I've got two K10Ds that were bought dirt cheap on ebay. One has 8k and the other 14k on the shutter count. On one I keep the Amigo 31 and the other Amigo 77. Buying a backup camera for whatever model you have is a great idea and also saves time on switching lenses.

Advice on 35mm Film Camera
Posted By Pan Kleks

I used to own a Nikon F100 camera and really liked everything about it. I then moved into 6x4.5 and 6x9 film cameras but I am slowly selling them since I got into Pentax. I bought myself a K10D and besides the kit lens I own the Amigo 31 and 77 lenses. I would like to get a film 35mm Pentax camera so I can use my limiteds with them and need advice on which Pentax camera is the most like the F100. I would like to get one that has automatic exposure.
