This stunning shot was taken on the brick wall outside our old apartment in west Houston. The dolts in the management office had brilliantly decided to paint over perfectly good brick with this gray color. But it does make for a fine example of light reflecting on a brick wall! Enjoy! |

I captures this contestant couple at our annual Houston Art Car Parade a few weeks ago. It's a fun event filled with crazy art cars and contestants. Enjoy!

I captured our dog, Tabasco, having a cold one right beside the sidewalk in front of our apartment. Enjoying my favorite Miller High Life. Funny side note: I got her from a party buddy of mine years before who gave her beer and liquor on occasion. Probably why she would never bring back the stick when we played fetch with her! She would go after the frisbee or stick but then stop and just look at you. Enjoy!

I shot this walking through a gym's parking lot. I cut through there going to Target, etc. It lies between a parking garage and the gym's parking lot. When it rains it gets pretty full as seen here. There is a bullfrog that resides around the pond that I hear from time to time. Never seen him! Enjoy!

This figure was outside a restaurant in the Montrose section of Houston. I'm no too sure what the connection to the restaurant is or what it's actually supposed to be. But It intrigued me and I had to take a pic of it. Enjoy!

This is my best friend and I on a camping trip just after our morning attitude adjustment. I'm on the right. Taken in a park not too far from Houston around '78 or ''79. Wasted days and wasted nights! Enjoy.

Thanks folks. I actually took another look at the tripod and screwed the rubber piece at the end of the leg segment almost all the way down and pried the jammed leg. It came up a little! So I sprayed some more wd40 and then pried the stuck leg segment out. Does anybody know what remote control unit to get for the K30? The lady I bought the camera from included Shoot RC-60 which seems to be for Canons. It doesn't work with the camera. I thought it was a low battery problem and got some new batteries but it still wouldn't activate the camera even though the remote sensor was blinking. Thanks and Happy Holidays to all!

I'm trying to take some pics of the end of a leg on my Velbon tripod. I have a 55-300mm lens and a old 50 mm lens. Tried autofocus and manual focus with the telephoto lens. Tried the 50mmlens. Tried macro mode. Can't get the tripod in focus no matter what I do. Any suggestions? Also if any one can tell me how to pull out the bottom section of the tripod leg that would be great. I somehow jammed the end of the leg section into the tube. The small lip on the end of the section is definitely stuck in there hard!

Over the years I have seen and photographed turtles, birds, squirrels, and rabbits on the hike/bike trail that runs along the bayou behind our apartment complex. I captured this one earlier this year as i was strolling along the trail. If anyone can identify what type of bird it is I would like to know. As a side note I just recently saw the biggest soft shell turtle I've ever seen along this bayou. Didn't have my camera but it's shell must have been about 1.5' x 15" or so. It was frickin' huge! Enjoy!

This was taken years ago somewhere west of Houston. I believe it was taken around the time I was taking photography classes at Houston Community College. I've always liked this one. Enjoy!!

I named this building the Norelco building way back when it was built here in Houston. The top reminds me of a Norelco electric shaver. Enjoy!

Here is a shot of flowers on the hike/bike trail on the bayou behind our apartment complex. I took it with my new-to-me Pentax K30. I'm excited about this camera as it's my first DSLR and I got everything (camera, 55-500 lens, batteries and chargers, filters, bag, etc.) for under 250. I look forward to taking many more memorable shots with it. The spot where I took this pic is home to butterflies but There were none yesterday when I shot this. Enjoy!

Here is my mom clearing snow off the sidewalk at our home in Wheaton, Ill. The funny thing about this incident was that she must have spent an hour or so clearing our sidewalk of snow. Only to have the snow plow come by and toss it all back onto the sidewalk! Enjoy!

Thanks for the nominations. I was considering other pics but at the last minute thought of my newly started collection. I owe my appreciation of brews like these to earlier times. There were 4 of us that used to frequent the drive-through beer joint in our neighborhood, grab a few ales or whatever, turn up Rush on the care stereo, light one up, and cruise the neighborhood. The 4 of use even got into running 10ks and such. During those days you were often rewarded after a run with cold brew. I recall one such run where we had many iced down kegs waiting at the finish line. Ahhhh, the good old days when you would 'carbo load' after a good run!
