This is my "personal best" of the year. Most because of the feeling I had when I walked around this morning with the fog and all.
The lens is my favorite to shoot with and the composition was not planned at all. It was between to loacations I had planned. And usually my best pictures tends to be the ones that was not planned ahead.
I also remembered that I scratched my screen on the camera. :o

Here's the thing: I cleaned the connectors on the grip and camera: Nothing. Still flickering. I tried changing the battery souce: Nothing. So far no change. I also tried to do a pixel mapping on the sensor. Then I got a error message that there was not enough power to do so. Even though batteries are fully charged (or so they say). I removed the grip: And pixel mapping did then work. So then I changed a battery from my old K7. Then the flickering stopped. Or didn't flicker that much. So there's obviously something strange with the Grip I think.
But the Liveview works stable all the time. doesn't matter what battery. ---------- Post added 07-08-21 at 12:16 PM ----------
Uhm... so I tried this as well... and with the new battery there was no flickering at all. If this is the real reason to this then I have no words... :o
But thanks!
It's strange to think that pressing buttons on the grip while in landscape does this.

Yeah. That was my thought as well. I'll to clean them this evening to see if that fixes the issue. If not: Maybe I'm better without the extra grip  Takes sometime getting used to.

I don't know. It doesn't seem that all the power is cut from the camera. It's just the light (and the jumping out from menus thingy). But I'll try to isolate this issue a bit more. ---------- Post added 07-08-21 at 03:33 AM ----------
I tried a little bit yesterday. I removed the batterygrip, then the flicker stopped. But I did not have the time to wait and see if it was stable over time. So I think (and hope) its bad connectors on the grip and I will try to clean those. But I wanted to know for sure if this was a common screenissue these cameras had and how it could be fixed.

It's an original grip. The connectorpins are a bit uneven. Someone are longer than the others. So it's mabye as expected. What is used to clean these areas?
Edit: Found som electronic cleaners. Will try to clean this product before I try something else.

Hi there.
So I bought a used K3 (silver version) and I got it yesterday. After a few testshots and ajustments in the settings I noticed that the screen kinda flickers. It goes completely off and on again. If I'm in the menu "resets" back to the main screen when it truns on again. It seems a little sporadic when this happends. And the screen sometimes turns on if I'm moving the camera or press the release button. The menu button sometimes work not always.
One thing I noticed was that camera runs the power primary from the batterygrip source. When I took of the battery grip the screen stopped flickering. But I haven't used enough to know if this solves the problem. Anyone with experience know if this have been an issue?

Thank you all for the comments: This is one of the all too many times I regret for not shooting in raw. I've tried to highlight more of the mountains but the end result doesn't look good. Maybe it also depends on what kind of screen this is seen on. I've not calibrated my screen when i process i Lr. If I stare long enough (pardon my french) I can see the details on my screen.

Thank you all for the comments. Funny thing is: I wasn't happy with this shot when I saw it at the screen on the camera. But my jaw dropped when I saw it on my computer. I really like theese kind of surprises. The one I took that I thought would be good wasn't.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm keeping both. The little I tested so far I found out that the K seem to demand a bit more light than the m (on the K-7). But it isn't any downside to that. Just something I noticed.

Awsome sharpness in those pictures man! I thin I will stick to both. I have a feeling both are good in different scenarios.

smc-pentax-da-2.8 40mm xs
I can't say it was awful. But I read a lot of reviews about it. And when I finally bought one it dissapointed me a lot. The format was not nice on my K-7 and it didn't seem sharp at all. Looked like autofocus didn't handle this lens well. And that 18-55 kit wasn't my favorite either...

Hi guys,
I've recently bought to vintage lensen. Both are 28mm 3.5. But they are different i sizes.
One is named smc pentax 3.5/28mm
the other smc pentax-m 3.5/28mm
Any of you know the difference in these? It seems that the pentax-m (only taken a few pictures) gives better bokeh, more warmer colors and is not in the need of much light to perform well. The other is alos supersharp, but it seems a bit more demanding to get nice results. a bit colder in the colors and against the sun the flare is not so good (but this however needs to be tested more)

Thanks for your reply guys. I think I see this better now. Just begun using LR and I find it very easy to use at my knowledgelevel. is raw conversion better in PS or is this just a personal preference?

So if I understand this correctly, one should first export the raw photo to (for the best possible result) .tif and then edit, and then export it to .jpeg?
