Item for Sale
Art meets Deco - the Minolta SR1s

Asking Price
150.00 USD

Item Location
California (United States)

Item Description
What we have here, Ladies and Germs, is perhaps the prettiest 35mm SLR camera ever created. It definitely is the nicest looking camera that I happen to be selling at this exact moment.
The Minolta SR1s. I'll let that sink in for a moment. Yes, the S, wait, I mean 's' model. Unlike the pedestrian SR1, this one (geddit!) has an extra letter in its name, and an extra shutter speed on its dial. Yup, this puppy rocks a 1/1000 top end. Don't believe me? Look at the pics.

I think by now you know I take these ads very seriously. And I am not joking when I took this camera to Steve's Camera Repair (Culver CIty) when I first got it for them to give it a once over. The white guy with the beard (sorry, forget his name) exclaimed it was the cleanest one he had ever seen. Yea verily, this one really looks like it came from a time capsule. Except because I've been using it you don't have to worry about besmirching it. I've already smirched its bees.

Mechanically zero issues. Needs nothing. Viewfinder is clean and lovely. Comes with Minolta 55 1.7 and 35 2.8 lenses in similar condition with matching OEM lens hoods. Which are the super nice felt lined jobbies.
Cosmetically? Puh-leeze just look at it. It's like staring into the sun except without losing your sight causing you to walk into traffic.
I hate to say "like new" but you be the judge.

SR1s + 55 1.7 + 35 2.8 with matching hoods and the lower half of the ever ready case. $150 +$15.50 USPS flat rate mid size box. It's more expensive than those rando Excellent++++++ beaters on ebay, because just look at it.

PEACE!

Huge 43mm filter collection! And some other stuff too.

Asking Price
100,000.00 USD

Item Location
California (United States)

Item Description
Ok, this is something I just dug up from the deepest, darkest depths of my photographic soul. AKA my closet.
Apparently years back I bought a huge box of vintage filters. And then forgot about it.

So here's what I have:

1. Canon 43mm CCB4 1.5X. This is a pale blue-ish filter. Plastic case + box.
2. Walz 43mm #127 85C filter. This one will need to be cleaned as the foam packaging disintegrated around it. Plastic case.
3. Tiffen 43mm 652 80C blue filter in trippy matching blue metal ring. Plastic case + box which has been relabelled to match.
4. Nikon 43mm 82A blue filter. Says Nikon Inc USA on the filter ring. Plastic case + box
5. Walz 43mm #127 green filter. Plastic case but for some reason in a Tiffen Photar box but labelled correctly on the top.
6. Vivitar 43mm 80B blue filter. Plastic case + box. Needs cleaning from foam packaging.
7. Hoya 43mm K2 yellow filter. Plastic case + box.
8. Vivitar 43mm 81C filter. Plastic case + box.
9. Hoya 43mm 82A filter. Plastic case + box.
10. Vivitar 43mm Light Green. Plastic case + box. Needs cleaning from foam packaging.
11. Vivitar 43mm 82A filter. Plastic case + box.
12. EdnaLite USA PhotoFlood coated (!) 43mm 80B filter. Plastic case in a Vivitar 80C box...
13. Tiffen 43mm FLD made in USA filter. Purple color. Plastic case.
14. An orange filter (nothing rhymes with this filter) in the size of 52x .75. So I guess it is a 52mm filter. Plastic case.
15. Vivitar 43mm 80B blue fiter. Plastic case + box. Needs cleaning from foam packaging.
16. Vivitar 43mm 80A filter. Plastic case + box. Needs cleaning from foam packaging.
17. Vivitar 43mm 81A filter. Plastic case + box. Needs cleaning from foam packaging.
18. Vivitar 43mm 85A filter. Plastic case + box.
19. Vivitar 43mm 80B blue filter. Plastic case + box. Needs cleaning from foam packaging.
20. Vivitar 43mm 85B blue fitler. Plastic case + box. Needs cleaning from foam packaging.
21. Hoya 43mm 82A filter. Plastic case + box.
22. Quantary 55mm 85A filter. Plastic case.
23. Big chunky yellow filter with 52 x .75 . Plastic case.
24. Quantary 55mm 85A filter. Plastic case.
25. Hoya 43mm 85 filter. Plastic case + box.
26. Canon 43mm CCB12 3X. This is a blue-ish filter. Plastic case + box.
27. Vivitar 43mm 81B filter. Plastic case + box.
28. No name 58mm UV filter. Japan. plastic case + box.
29. Kalimar (!) 43mm X1 filter. Green. Plastic case.
30. Hoya 55mm CS filter. Plastic box.
31. GEMKO (!) 49mm 1A filter. Plastic case + box.
32. Vivitar 43mm 82A filter. Plastic case + box.
33. GEMKO (!) 49mm 1A filter. Plastic case + box.
34. Cokin square A 005 filter. Brown. Plastic case.
35. Cokin square A 1 filter. Yellow. Plastic case.
36. No name 58mm UV filter. Japan. Plastic case + box.
37. Vivitar 37mm circular polarizer. Plastic case + box.
38. Kenko 48mm circular polarizer. Plastic case + box.
39. Vivitar Series 1 58mm UV filter. Pouch.
40. Vivitar Series 1 58mm ND8 filter. Pouch.
41. Vivitar Series 1 58mm CPL filter. Pouch.

1. Vivitar tele converter 2x-5 with leather case.

1. 2 Cokin filter holders - one small, one large.

1. 5 maybe Cokin filter thread adapters to mount filter holders. Varying sizes.

1. 2 rubber lens hoods (good shape no tears) 48mm and 43.5 mm

Phew! Ok, all these filters are either made in Japan, USA or France. The vast majority are made with solid (heavy feeling - brass?) metal rings. These are old school built filters. From the time when people cared about stuff like that.

How much? Well it's all gonna fit in one box USPS medium flat rate shipping @ $15.50.

So $15.50 + best offer. I will throw in some surprise gifts of dubious value...

PEACE!

Item for Sale
Pentax K2 film slr with 40mm 2.8 and 28mm 2.8 lenses

Asking Price
200.00 USD

Item Location
California (United States)

Item Description
Alright. Now that my LX finally sold (you heathens not appreciating tartan!), my absolute favourite Pentax is next.
The one, the only, the lovely K2. This really is an almost perfect camera. If Nikon made something like this they would call it something lame like FE, which is short for flee. Or flea. Is that what you want people to think of you?
No.
But Pentax - what a name! K2. Just say it with me. K2. What is that? Some kind of code for a massive mountain, that towers over others? Yep. The Pentax K2 is a mountain of a camera. The sort of machine that when you whip it out (steady on there chaps!), people say - stand back! He's got a camera!

What does this K2 bring to the table? It is gorgeous black enamel, with just the right amount of surface edge brassing to let you know it's seen stuff. It's been used. It's worthy. But no dents or gouges that tell you the previous owner was a bumbling fool with hands of clay. (I may be a bumbling fool but at least I don't drop cameras. Ok, not this one).
Meter is perfect. Shutter times correctly according to results on film where it matters, dammit. Super responsive action. Wind on is smooth and SHORT!! Not long like that miserable MX I pawned off a while back. Also the shutter speed dial is perfectly weighted - again not like that knuckle buster on the MX.

The ISO scale/dial is easy to set. No issues here. Honestly I think people reporting problems have not read the manual. You need to make sure the Exposure comp is on zero i.e not set, then it adjusts easily. If you have exp comp set - even a little bit - it will not adjust. That is how Pentax designed it people.

Lenses are excellent - no issues with the 40 2.8 or 28 2.8. Selling this goodness as a set as, well, it deserves it and I'm tired of all these ads I'm placing...
Pics of the camera, and a few taken with the 40mm.

Oh yeah - $200 +$15.50 USPS medium box flat rate priority mail. For the awesome K2, 40 2.8, 28 2.8.
The quick release strap thingies are NOT included.

Item for Sale
Minolta Prod 20's P&S film camera

Asking Price
120.00 USD

Item Location
California (United States)

Item Description
For your viewing - AND BUYING - pleasure I present to you a very pretty P&S camera.

I give you the delightful, the delectable, the is that all it does Minolta Prod 20's. In full boxed kit with all the dinky accessories that were meant to add value. At least the pouch is handy..
Condition would be like new if it didn't have a few bright marks on the top plate. That's because when I bought it new new, the seller didn't secure the lens cap properly and in transit it came loose and rubbed on the top plate. As the French say, such is life..
As with ALL these cameras, the pleather can start to peel off. I secured/repaired it on the front with pliobond adhesive (cannot tell there was an issue), but by the film door catch it is slightly rising. I have not touched that as IMO it hasn't moved enough to warrant a re-glue. But full disclosure etc, so when/if the time comes, use pliobond.
Comes with not one but two LI batteries as this size is easy to find online, but hard in a corner shop. So that's a bonus.
The idea behind this camera is to make a nice looking classic style (Leica-esque?) camera, in metal (on the outside), with a basic P&S spec. The bottom plate even comes off like a Leica!.
You have next zero control over what happens. Basically the only thing you control is the on/off switch, and if the self timer is set (with an actual cool self timer lever!). Flash fires whenever it feels like but at least it does actually seem appropriate. Exposures really are excellent (see attached pics) but I would only recommend this camera as a party camera - i.e. something to take people or up to mid distance pics with. I didn't like the results much at infinity. The lens just doesn't seem to resolve well for that.
But this is a great party camera, as people love the way it looks, it is so easy to give to someone to take a pic with as there is nothing for them to mess up, and those type of pics come out well. I would hazard to say it would also be a good street camera for those same reasons.

Item for Sale
Highland Games Edition Pentax LX!

Asking Price
500.00 USD

Item Location
California (United States)

Item Description
Now this is a stunner... my Highland Games Edition (kilt not included) Pentax LX. Ok, there never was such an addition but d@mmit there should have been!
Escape from the world of boring all black cameras. Shield your eyes from the gold plated editions. Feast your senses on this technicolor masterpiece!
The camera was given a full service by Eric Hendrickson last year - invoice will be included - so no issues with this baby. No dents/dings, just surface patina that shows it has been loved and used. Everything works correctly. I find this camera noisier than my F3s, or Leica Rs, or Minolta XK. This is splitting hairs because SLRs are not quiet, but I'm letting you know my hot take on it.
Exposures are perfect but as it uses a center weighted (avg?) pattern, it's up to you, the professional user (this is a professional camera after all..) to determine if you are dealing with a back-lit condition etc and adjust forthwith.

Comes with 2 finger grips - the OEM and a bulkier 3D printed one. The OEM allows you to still use the self timer when attached, the 3D does not but some find gives better purchase on the camera.

Comes with the Pentax Winder - works perfectly. And all the body caps that cover the winder holes on the camera are present and correct. When you take them off the camera, you attach them to the winder which is neat.

Comes with the super 50mm 1.4 SMC-A lens (serviced by Eric), and the even more super Tamron SP 35-80 in P/PKA mount lens which I picked as apparently it is the best zoom lens in that range you can get for the Pentax.

So... custom LX fully serviced with 2 grips, winder, 50 1.4 and 35-80 lens.
$500 + shipping. I'm guessing $30 because this will go in a large flat rate USPS priority box plus will need extra insurance.

Peace!
Huss

p.s. comes with box and owner's manual.

Voigtlander Bessa L

Asking Price
140.00 USD

Item Description
Wut this is, is a Bessa w/o that pesky rangefinder that keeps going out of whack. Wut it is, is a 35mm body that STILL has TTL metering (cool), mechanical shutter speeds up to 1/2000 (very cool), and with the LTM mount (crickets).

Obviously the intended use is with wide angle lenses, an optical finder in the cold shoe, and zone focusing. It is just wonderful for that. Everything works perfectly, with minimal wear to the camera.
As a bonus it also comes with a Buttergrip in support of breast cancer awareness. Actually, it's pink and I just realized that ties in nicely, we SHOULD all be aware and supportive, and, er people will see me as a sweet and caring individual.
If you don't like pink then you Sir, are not an artist.

$140 shipping/pp included.

Up next... a superb example of the N2000, which is perhaps the greatest 35mm film camera ever made..
Everything is to notch here - no dents/dings/scratches. No corrosion in the battery chamber. No dust in the VF!
Everything works. Classic Nikon 60/40 meter pattern, shutter speeds up to 1/2000, AE lock.

The lens is the later edition Series E 50 1.8 - where Nikon really improved the build quality over the nasty early plastic thing.
Excellent results, no issues.

$70 for both + $15.50 USPS express mail tracked etc etc.

Any issues etc, send it back.

This camera really is one of the most underrated Nikons out there. Just a really good camera that does exactly what you need to get the shot.

This basically is a new old stock Jupiter 8, in the last design they made. I bought it from an Eastern Bloc seller a while back, and then again forgot about it. Comes in the bakelite case, no caps which is kinda weird, but a shim in case you need to shim it?
No marks on the lens that I can see - glass or on body. A very small, cute little thing. The issue I have with it is the aperture is clickless (which many lenses - cough 7Artisan cough - are nowadays from the 3rd tier mfgs). The aperture ring is very light (not loose or failing) so it is easy to change the setting w/o realizing it. This wouldn't matter on something like the amazing Leica M7 in auto mode, but may need you to check yourself before you wreck yourself with a manual only camera.
Fedka sells these $180 new, $85.50 used in EXC-. Plus $20 shipping.

Me? $70 + $15.50. If shipping ends up less, I'll refund the difference.

Zenit 212K Pentax K mount 35mm slr w/ Zenitar lens!

Asking Price

Item Location
California (United States)

Item Description
Zenit 212K 35mm film camera with Zenitar lens.

Excellent condition. The meter works - the LEDs light up etc - accurate? It's a Soviet camera!
I have placed some electrical tape over the back film door window - which you can remove. I always do that as that is the main source of light leaks with any camera that has them.
As with all Zenits, when you wind the film lever, do not be shy! Make sure to complete the full winding stroke till you hit the hard stop. This makes sure the shutter and mirror is properly cocked.
This is a cool 35mm slr, in the Pentax K mount, so there are lots of lenses you can use for it, or you can use this lens (Zenitar 50mm f2) on any camera that uses the Pentax K mount.

A nice piece with a great lens. I actually bought it for the lens, which I often used on my Pentax cameras!

NIB Pentax LX with 2 viewfinders, what would it sell for?
Posted By Huss

Looking on ebay.. (where else can you find this info? Especially under SOLD listings), the only collectible ones are the collectible ones. e.g the gold plated boxed editions, or the titanium limited editions.
If your camera IS brand new, never taken out of the box, unused, it could be worth $1000 to someone on ebay.
The problem is if that person uses it, and finds out it has issues. Then you'll be getting it back, and out shipping expenses. And now you'll no longer have a brand new/never used camera.

I would test it to see if it works. For that you would need a lens (!) and either a test roll of film or the paper insert that goes over the shutter that a new camera is supplied with. This is because the LX meters off the film plane, and needs that to get a correct exposure/timing.
