Yes, i´m thinking that this could be tha main point. I´ll post two pictures here to compare. Obviously, each one was taken under different conditions, different settings but with the same lens (a Pentax-A 28mm). The one at desert was taken with using hyperfocal distance and set to infinity; other had the focus set manually on subject with focus peaking.

Thanks for all your answers! I´ll some tests and compare the results, including the use of hyperfocal distance with lens set to infinity vs focus peak. There are some images that i recently took during a trip to Bolivia that seems not so good.

I basically use manual lenses on my cameras (a Pentax-A 28mm f2.8 and a Pentax-A 50mm f2 on a K5 or K30).
I wonder if anyone has ever compared the depth of field using the aperture ring on the lenses versus the digital aperture in camera - and if you noticed any difference in results, ever in depth of field or sharpness.

Hi. I´m a Pentax user based on Brasil, using this days a K20d and a Fuji Xe-1 with adapters (M42 - Pk on K20d and Pk-X on Fuji).
The pic above is from an commercial job, using the Xe-1 with a Takumar (Bayonet) 135mm f2.5.
