I have exactly the same quandary! I would love a brand-new Pentax K-70 in Silver since its so cheap at B&H now...plus the 18-135mm. But...very hesitant because of the solenoid failure problem. I really hope B&H posts a reply...The camera/lens is already in my cart...

Could anyone perhaps help me ID this old film camera I used on a trip to Africa maybe mid-1980's? I tried to upscale and sharpen with Topaz to enhance the camera model but didn't do very well. This is just a crop...

Ok thanks all...found the setting under "memory"...also see I can use the rear wheel to control actual strength setting during use in the field...the KP is really a fine camera. Much better than the K-70 in my opinion. Far better exposures (K70 consistently overexposed for me), far better feel and construction, far better grip, far more control options...and so on...closest I have ever got to a "professional" camera...I am SO pleased with it...will keep it for a long time...at least until K-new shows up...!

My KP does not retain the Clarity setting I set it to: +1 and using jpeg only.
I have to reset it every time I turn the camera on/off. The program/menu retains all the other in-camera jpeg settings and adjustments I have made.
Program/menu quirk to accept and get used to...or a defect?

Ok thank you all. I filled out the Precision Camera form linked by monochrome...I see they quoted me a repair charge of $172.00 without ever knowing what the problem is! Anyway, the lens is under warranty and I marked the appropriate box properly.

I wanted Adorama to replace the lens...Adorama told me to contact Pentax...gave me the link to the Pentax Repair and Warranty department...no-one is helping...I at least expected Adorama to offer a replacement...I also contacted Precision...nothing...

My Pentax 18-135 is decentered/misaligned.
Contacted Pentax twice...once through the official Pentax website contact...second time through an official Pentax link provided to me by Adorama through whom I purchased the lens...three weeks now...no reply at all.
What now?

I have ordered a new Pentax KP. I have a Pentax K-70. The K-70 consistently overexposes when using the 77-segment metering modes. I currently use the center-weighted mode to overcome the overexposure problem. I tried underexposing by 1/3 stop but didn't like the results. Jpeg only...no raw.
Can anyone advise whether the KP suffers from a similar overexposure malade when using the 77-segment metering modes?
Research/reading didn't seem to answer my query...
