Looking for something which obviously is a good lens. But also if there is any lenses that are like...known for some kind of special thing about them. Which make the photos ”special” due to the lens.

A lens which will make Black and white photos a special feel about them.

Not sure how to descibe what i’m looking for here...

Is there any vintage lens that are affordable?

Is the SMC Pentax-M Asahi 50mm f/1.4 ”the one” or anything else that you would recommend?

For my K-70.

I thought about it after reading all your suggestions and looking thru my photos to see what kind of focal distans I usually end up with.

So I bought:

Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 DS Art

Pentax 18-135mm 3,5-5,6 WR

Got them for great prices second hand and they are close to new.

Decided to sell my

Sigma 18-200mm

Sigma 10-20mm

Pentax 50mm macro

Lensbaby

So I end up with:

Sigma 18-35mm

Pentax 18-135mm

Pentax 35mm

Pentax 50mm

Laowa 60mm macro 2:1

I feel really happy with this setup and it covers every area for my photography needs.

And in the future I probably buy the Sony A7 III (or IV when it comes out). And use my Pentax mostly for landscape with the Art lens being my primary lens of choice.

I had a total brain error and screwed on my ND-filter on top of the UV-filter which already sat on the lens. And now i can’t get it of from the uv-filter.

Is there anyway to get if off safe or have I messed up...No matter how much I try to screw it of, nothing. Tried gently to screw and pull it out. Nothing. I guess thread is messed up now...?

I hope it makes sense (not the mess up, my typing. English is not my native language)

(Lens)
(Uv-filter)
(ND-filter)

Nah, to be honest looking back at my photos the ideal lens for me other then macro lenses, is a 24-70 lens. Most of my photos is between that focal distance.

Yeah, been an Pentax user since around 2000-2001. Love their cameras. But I have to admit, the Sony A7 III really looks nice, might not be a great thing to say in a Pentax forum...

But seems like some a lot of good people in here yeah. I will be around here for sure.

Thanks a lot for the kind words about my photos.

I think i’ll just wait. I got the lenses I really need. Obviously there is a lot better upgrades but the range I got at the moment works just fine.

Can I have the automatic live view on/off thing while looking thru the viewfinder?

I’ve seen Sony A7 does this. So shooting in live view and then putting your eye in the view finder it changes the live view on/off.

Is that possible on the K-70?

I use the 18-200 as my go to daily lens.

10-20 landscape.

Macro a use a lot actually. Love shooting macro. And that lens is my favorite of all of them.

As I said I shoot whatever I feel like from day to day. Never been into just one thing.

Some of my photos can been seen here:

Mikel Nilson Bark - Portfolio

But you might be right. Just keep going with the lenses I got. Not that I feel that I really need a lens when i’m out taking photos.

The whole idea actually came from that my go to lens the 18-200 is a pretty cheap lens and maybe upgrading to something better with sharper lens etc might be an idea. And then I came across the 18-135 and 18-35 sigma art.

But sometimes cheap doesn’t mean that it’s bad.

You know how it is you see a good deal and specially when I’ve heard so many good things about sigmas art lenses...

Thanks for your replies.

I might not need a new lens then. Just in the mood for something new.

Been into shooting pretty much anything but lately street. And an 85mm or 135mm fol samtang. Their both MF only though so thats something to think about.

Any lens recommendations in general?

I got today:

Sigma 18-200 f/ 3,5-6,3 DC

Sigma 10-20mm

Laowa 60/2,8 ultra macro 2:1

Pentax DA 35 2,4 AL

Pentax DA 50mm 1,8

Looking to shoot more street and cars. The 35 and 50 are good for street I know but seen a lot of nice oics taken with 85mm and 135mm street photography.

Fun to mix it up also seeing that it’s so common with 50mm for street photography.

I’m not much of a tech guy, don’t know that much about all the camera stuff. I just go out and shoot and do it with the lens I feel the most for that day

Hello,

Today I got:

Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 EX DC HSM

18-200mm f/3,5-6,3 DC Macro HSM Contemporary

And I’ thinking about upgrading since I found two lenses which are hardly used.

Sigma 18-35 F1,8 DS Art

Pentax 18-270mm F2,5-6,3 ED SDM SMC

Is it really such a big upgrade that it will make a difference for me?

Been looking at the Irix 15mm for a long time also...

What should I do here? Thanks
