How did you become a Pentaxian ?

I became a "Pentaxian" back in high school when I took an introduction to photography class. Our school had K-1000 camera's and from the moment I started using them I was hooked! Friends of mine went the traditional Canon and Nikon route but what I liked about the Pentax was it was a more compact. After graduating, I checked out all the major brands and decided to do with a Pentax ME Super! Fast forward to 2020, I finally jumped into the DSLR market with the purchase of the K-70.

Pentax K70 Autofocus - Viewfinder vs Live View

Thanks for the responses...you have given me a few things to consider when it comes to AF settings I have and how I can "tweak" them to achieve better results with my autofocus! :)

The two lenses I am using would both be considered "kit lenses". The first is a Pentax 18-55mm 3.5 (DAL) which came with my camera and the second is an Pentax 55-300mm (DA).

Pentax K70 Autofocus - Viewfinder vs Live View

I have recently noticed a difference with the (auto) focus of pictures taken using the "viewfinder" as opposed to "Live View". I have looked at the "AF with Viewfinder" settings and they are set to the following

AF Mode = AF.C
AF Active Area = Auto (11)

The pictures taken using "Live View" are definintiely sharper than the ones taken using the "Viewfinder" and I am wondering if this is normal? Any information people can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

I first caught the photography bug in high school in the late 70's. My first camera was an old Kodak 126 cartridge and once I graduated I purchased a Pentax ME Super which I enjoyed for the next 20 years. I moved to the digital point and shoots after 2000, but missed the flexibility of the SLR. I have recently purchased a new Pentax K-70 and am excited about getting back into DSLR photography.
