About this Pentax ME because I love the old style cameras and wanted I take a break from my om1. I got it for $75 but I've never seen the control setup on the ME like this.
ANY INFO WOULD BE GREAT

Thank you Sam, and yes Stevejo the hot shoe is tall and ugly but I'm never going to have it left on there as I never use Flash anyway I do miss using a Pentax me super which was my first camera but I love a camera with really no electronics in it. People today look down on slrs, but my camera will still go with a dead battery or without a battery. Lets see a $10,000 DSLR do that

Look what I found! was it worth $250? In my opinion yes since I don't look forward to too much in life now. I fitted my plastic Advance lever plastic piece to this one and it's a perfect match so now I just have to find a donor one. Light meter works and functions great. Serial number 122124. Externally exact as my om1 except for the mount behind the camera lens, the M1 uses flat screwdriver screws while the OM1 uses Phillips head

you're right, that does speak loads of reliability and workmanship. If my meter ever stopped working and it was not because of the contact of the battery I would probably try to snip the needle off and then use a handheld light meter. I will be OCD if I saw the meter and I knew it wasn't working so if I can cut it back which I believe I could I would be fine with that.

It is a handsome camera and even though it's starting to get more and more Electronics inside it is still very desirable. I believe that's where it started to Branch outside the fully manual camera so of course, but a gorgeous piece of workmanship none the less

I will admit I was in the nikon phase for a while, and fm2 in the F3 HP. Great cameras but it just didn't feel the same to be honest as with the Olympus. As a matter of fact I found a premotor drive body for $56 like mine in very good condition, serial number in the early 200,000. $56 I believe. The only thing that was wrong with it was an erratic light meter which I believe is the nylon screw has probably come loose and letting the contact move around in the battery chamber, which is an easy fix

See, I would love to have the1/2000th as the only upgrade to the original and thankful for the larger view. I still prefer it over My Nikon FM2, still waiting on my 1.8 lens.. it was in a city 25 miles away from me ready to be delivered to my post office when I get a notice at night that now it is 1029 miles away in Des Moines Iowa and not in North Carolina anymore. So until USPS get straight I won't order any more accessories, not even portra film that I want to try. So sad.

I have always loved the om4 but never did get one, I think I love mechanical more than anything else which is why I loved the Pentax k1000, a light meter of course is acceptable inconvenient. And you're right rangefinders probably don't have the internals of a SLR nor do they have the classic look at my opinion not to say they don't look good.

What I mean is that compared to the mechanism of a Leica M3 to the Olympus om-1 is course, the M3 was like Silk. But then again they had hand fitted brass parts. It was one of the smoothest systems for winding film I've ever felt I'm just not into Rangefinder cameras

It is a question we may never know the answer to, my first camera was still a Pentax and that will never change. I still love the MX the LX and me super. And I do sort of miss my Leica M3 but the Olympus that was not over-engineered as Leica, its still a great machine and you know I will put it to good use in the time that I can

that's not a bad price, I don't mind doing all of it except the bumper for the mirror since it involves debris getting inside the Box. Even though I guess I could stuff things inside of it to keep debris from falling into it

There's a guy in a couple of cities away from me that I'm going to have him remove the top cover and to remove any foam that may be under it to be proactive in care of the prism .. then a great job on a Leica M3 that I had oh, he said he had used that same model camera for 40 years.

they are the best!.. clear as a bell on this one ---------- Post added 12-25-20 at 04:43 PM ----------
i was surprised it had the flash port plug, which is fine since i don't really use a flash. Cancer is a mess, but that's life. might as well do what you enjoy. ---------- Post added 12-25-20 at 04:45 PM ---------- I am using 675 hearing aid batteries and stopping down to 100 speed film from 400 to compensate for the meter Spirit the 135 is not the best lens for that which is why I want the standard 1.8. I may go to a 50 3.5 ---------- Post added 12-25-20 at 05:39 PM ---------- I thank you for your comment and yeah when you get to a certain age you have to slow down anyway that's sort of the point in life. It's been awhile since I've been on the Forum asthma health and cancer has been sort of holding me back. But in my absence I picked up another camera because I like interchangeable focusing screens. I found a premotor drive Olympus om-1, no foam degradation, everything works including light meter, came with 135 3.5 lens. I have a standard 1.8 on order, got to love the old stuff

Considering its age and I haven't seen another stamped Japan is about as close as mint as it can be. And as you're aware tooling can get worn over time, just maybe a product of a tool that needs to be changed out

Just to let you all know if you go to eBay u.s. or America I guess you will see a listing for a mint condition Pentax k1000. This has Asahi Optical code Japan under the winding lever at the film advance. It has the bump where the KX battery check button would be , and the 55 F2 lens. $175 plus shipping , just a gorgeous example

Thanks for the info guys as I thought this was unusual for a Pentax. As I stated I believe the Nikon FG does do that then again this isn't a Nikon. As in another post I read I'm actually thinking about getting a Ricoh XR7, as it got very good praise from users. And as a bonus I can use my Pentax 1.7 as my me super has failed in all the electronics

So I know this guy that has a Pentax mg in very good condition oh, he says the only thing that's wrong with it, as all other functions work, is that the arm must be halfway out to take a picture. If I'm right the Nikon FG done this but what about the Pentax mg? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
