I'm sure I ran many thousands of feet of Ektachrome in my day following start up of a E-6 only lab. the film recorder was huge sales gimmick and a step above the copy stand. As mind numbing as it was it was gravy $, able to be done by student part timers and kept the 2 processors well replenished. It's all so archaic sounding now.

They don't look like 'wet' errors and the first and last appear to be contradictory. Sure would be helpful to see the full film strip width. Many camera malfunctions will not manifest as a consistent error across every frame.

Before you use a lube, contact Gitzo if it persists after some exercising motions. You shouldn't need lube at this point.

Can you show the full width of film including the borders? Showing strips of 2 or 3 would be a big help.

If you already have a good ball then get a good three-way. None are perfect. I hate ball-heads for studio work. How about a nice gear-head?

Several images do appear to have a 'sharp' point. Given the added tidbit of history, looks to me as a zoom element has popped out of alignment and causes, in effect a bit of a tilt/shift to the focal plane.

Indeed, history is rife with fungibility. As Robt Frank said, "black and white are the colors of photography,” and it wasn't until Eggleston was 'discovered' that Delaroche's nightmarish prediction came true. :D

May as well use the tool that works best for you, or seek out the 'influencers' that reinforce the answer you want. Just remember the Android folks will talk down to you about your phone/camera choice.

Not exactly true. There were color processes in use in early 1860's, but it took about another full century for color to dominate the market.

Okay, and, "down to approximately 1/60," I saw that too, but still folks should test out where/how they get the most benefit. It could be one or two stops, or 5 to 6, approximately. It's also possible to get no appreciable benefit. Testing in digital is exceptionally cheap and easy with minimal note making.

One needs to remember not all hands or (human) bodies possess the same degree of steadiness, so the effective lower limits are a bit variable and should be tested by individuals, ideally in various stress positions likely encountered. ---------- Post added 03-15-24 at 10:18 AM ----------
In that vein, adding a toe loop to biz's string adds similar of tension/resistance when pulled against.
