It's easily my most used lens. Unless a I have specific purpose in mind, I leave in on a camera then go out and face the day knowing I'll get some good images in almost any situation. Even on a K-1 the combo is so compact I can carry it in a small almost unnoticeable bag but have a robust image making package at hand.

Yes, the 15-30 has been with me to China, Cambodia, Japan, Czechia and Tenerife at least. It is absolutely sensational for temples, castles and especially interiors. I wouldn't be without it if I've taken my FF kit.
On the other hand, I may take the K3iii instead on the next trip (if there is to be such a thing), in which case the DA 15 Limited will be in charge of UWA duties. It's only 22mm equivalent though, so it doesn't really match up. Much easier to carry though. A tough decision.

There was a discussion about this recently: JPEG style closest to RAW - PentaxForums.com As has been mentioned, when shooting RAW only (as I do too) the image displayed on the LCD, and the histogram for the image, are still based on the selected jpg profile. The point of using the Flat profile is that it doesn't show highlights as blown when they are not, as profiles like Bright or even Natural may do.
Some Rawtherapee users also said that they used a Flat profile because the program attempts to match the jpeg embedded in the raw file, and Flat makes a better starting point.

Well, for my K-3, I expect it's going to be the DA 20-40 Limited that just arrived today.

I have bought a couple of new lenses through Amazon and not experienced any issues. My go-to supplier for most of my new camera gear has always been B&H. However, my last purchase of an Irix 150mm macro lens through B&H had issues. The new lens came without the hood. The box was definitely factory sealed, so Irix had a packaging QC issue. The problem is that the only options B&H initially gave me were to return the entire lens or they would send me a third party hood. I had tested the lens and it was in great condition, so I didn't want to return it. After about four or five phone calls and escalating it to a higher-up at B&H, they finally got Irix to direct ship me a hood. I was actually doing them a favor so they wouldn't end up with an open-box item.

I don’t really like amazon. Idk about other folks in Europe, but shipping cost and other taxation makes it not so worth it. But my personal order experience (other products) is mediocre at best.

If you want to return an item, Amazon runs you through a robot which ultimately will have you send a message to the original vendor (unless the item came directly from Amazon). Then you have to work it out with the vendor. In some cases, Amazon might intervene and give a refund if a vendor is obviously unscrupulous. You do have to watch out for warranties and return policies as pointed out previously. Most items allow you to ask questions about the product (located below the listing) and that's a good way to "feel out" a vendor or obtain warranty info. I've returned a few items, and it usually went smoothly but an expensive lens (which you just decide isn't right for you) might not apply to that experience.

On my film bodies my Pentax M 50 f1.7 has been used for probably 75% of the shots I've taken. My Kiron 28 f2 is probably a distant second (and it's now damaged in an odd way that has the aperture acting oddly so it's not getting any use currently).

I have missed travel overseas during our 18-month isolation, but not as much as I thought I might. I’m just about done with travel within Australia, and I’d like to get back to New Zealand again (among other places), but this thread is supposed to be about places we haven’t been.
So:- Costa Rica;
- Siberia (really, the Trans-Siberian Railway has been on my list for decades); and
- Iceland.

I live in Eastern Canada and I have already visited 9 of our 10 provinces over the years.
I started exploring the American Southwest in 1978 and returned multiple times, either by car or by plane (1978 -1979 (2X) -1980 -1981 -1982 -1983 (2X) -1998 - 2013 - 2014 - 2017 - 2018 - 2019).
I explored mainly National and State Parks in Colorado, Utah, Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico and West Texas.
I never tire of this magnificent territory and so much lies undiscovered yet. California is the ultimate destination : Mountains, Deserts, Oceans. Arizona is a close second in natural beauty.

Out of curiosity, I counted the different lenses listed so far in this poll.
In my findings below, I counted only K-mount lens specified for Pentax cameras; when more than one lens was stated, I either went with what appeared to be the most-used lens or I did not count any lens at all if it was not very clear.
There are some 90 different such lenses listed for Pentax cameras in the poll so far, with a total of about 230 camera/lens combos in the poll.
The top ten single lenses that people say sit on their cameras the most are tabulated below:
No. .. Lens
---- ... -------
19 .... DFA 28-105mm
18 .... DA 18-135mm
15 .... DA 20-40mm Ltd.
13 .... DA 16-85mm
11 .... DFA 24-70mm
10 .... DA 55-300mm
10 .... DA 300-mm f/4
6 ..... DFA 150-450 mm
5 ..... Sigma 17-70mm
4 ..... DA 35-mm Macro Ltd.
4 ..... FA 43-mm Ltd.
4 ..... DFA* 50-mm f/1.4
The most-listed primary lenses were 50-mm lenses, but there were 13 different Pentax versions of these listed, totalling twenty 50-mm lenses. The second-most-common primary lens is 35mm, with seven different models totalling nine 35-mm lenses in all. But fully two-thirds of the lenses given in this thread/poll are zoom lenses.
Another interesting stat is that fully one-third of the lenses are non-Pentax, with Sigma lenses leading those with 21 (out of 30 total); these include eleven different Sigma lenses.
