Thank you for the kind words. I would love to go back... Bangladesh is really crazy and chaotic but it was also really interesting. I noticed the colors on the web seem to be a bit muted compared to what I see in Lightroom. Does anyone know if this is normal?
Also if you go to Bangladesh I know some good guides there. steve_mckay@hotmail.com ---------- Post added 03-05-2016 at 07:27 AM ----------
The elephant was really random. I was walking to breakfast when we saw the boy riding it. Elephants are something I expect to see in Laos and Thailand in the countryside logging, for tourism, or at wildlife refuges.... but it was a bit of a shock to see it right in the middle of the city on the road.

Thank you. I will try it in live view. I suspect that isn't the problem but it won't hurt to try.

I had it serviced in Taiwan. Unfortunately everything in Taiwan is Canon or Nikon these days so it isn't the easiest to find someone to look at it. However, my friend just recommended another person who he said is really really good at repairing lenses who I am hoping can look at it. I literally see zero difference on my k3 with this lens even when the lens compensation is set all the way to each side. The focus is quick and it seems to be working correctly in this respect but the images are just really soft. It seems to be a bit sharper at close distances and also when stopped down. Thank you for your responses.

I left my lens sitting around and it got some mold or something inside it. I could see what looked like snowflakes if I shined a light through the elements wide open. I sent it away to be serviced but now it isn't very sharp anymore. I am wondering if I should sent it in again to be adjusted or if maybe it is a problem with how it was cleaned.... Or if this is just the reality from getting some fungus or mold in the lens. I would consider selling it cheap to someone who could fix it or sending it away to someone who could make it more usable again. Any suggestions or experience with a similar problem?

This would be my favorite lens to win. I had a broken copy of an 43mm limited lens once and even though it wouldn't meter it was still amazing. Here are some photos I took from Myanmar and various places .... stevemckay I believe a 43mm lens would help renew my interest in portraits and street photography.... it would be a perfect travel lens. Merry Christmas

Hidden inside a small temple two young novice monks light candles. I did some minor adjustments in Aperture 3 - I decreased the saturation, adjusted the white balance, and lightened the shadows.

I have had quite a few problems with my camera and lenses recently so I was quite happy to get some nice photos while in Myanmar. It is a pretty cool place.

Bright rays of light illuminate the pages of a Novice Monk's book in the dark shadows of an ancient temple. This picture was taken late in the afternoon on a dry and dusty day on the plains of Bagan.
I was worried about going to Myanmar without a prime lens especially if I was going to take any photos indoors. The inside of this temple was especially dark. The Tamron lens is my cheapest lens but it produced some nice photos for me.
Here is the link to the lens: Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di-II LD Lens for Pentax AF016P-700
The K7 isn't made anymore... also you would be much better off getting something newer like the K5IIS or K50 since the picture quality would be substantially better. Used Pentax K7 14.6 Megapixels Digital Slr Camera Body |

I bought a dry box. Now that I am back from vacation I will look into getting it fixed. It still works although it seems as though this lens isn't always so sharp. i am not sure if the fungus effects this or if it is just the lens.

Today I was looking at my DA 60-250 lens and noticed some spots inside the lens. Upon further inspection with a flashlight it looks like there is an even bigger spot on an element in middle of the lens. I am super worried. I have hardly used this lens and I am about to go on a big vacation. I don't make a lot of money and this lens cost me about as much as I could afford in photography.
I am currently living in Taiwan to make things more difficult. I am guessing I will have to send this in which will probably cost a fortune to fix. I am not even sure if it is worth taking it on my trip. I used it the other day... I will have to go back and inspect the photos closely and see how much it is noticeable.
Any advice?

I noticed that depending where the photo is ex- page 1 of the contest or page 4 can change whether you get 100 views or 400 views. Therefor the contest isn't really fair. Any way to solve this?
