Me thinks buying DA lenses is also a false economy, unless you somehow plan to insist for APS-C format in the distant future.......... :hmm: <-suspicious guy

Me me meme :) , I gave my K200D to my wife and got a K-7, and I am looking for a new or like new K200D again, if I can get one I will sell my K-7, to my eyes because of it's CCD sensor and AA filter it's IQ is better than K-7 "on the monitor". The only drawback of K200 was it wasn't giving me headroom for cropping, other than that it's a perfect machine for photography. Honestly IQwise it's even better than K-5 too, for me.

One more thing, Eneloops stop working just below 0 C, I was carrying it under my coat in the cold.

Here is my one of the bests sample of K200D, click on pic to see full size, amazing ain't it. :)

I guess I couldn't make myself clear, functionally it does have a MLU, 2 sec delay will do in most cases. You'll understand better when you check this graph.

Unfortunately I don't, my max cold was say -5 c and only non-rechargeable Alkalines worked fine at that temp. I don't know about lithium AA's.

I wrote my ideas on the suggestions thread additionally, IMO separating dSLR's into three sections will slow down the visibility of the threads hence will decrease the communication. A lot of confusions will appear on camera comparisons. We'll see if I am right.

This is the question most photography beginners ask. The answer is plain simple, what lens system do you like? If you like pastel colors go for the Canon, if you like high color contrast and sharpnes go for the Leica, if you can't afford Leica Pentax is poor man's Leica. Limited Pentax lenses gives you a superb results, they won't let you look for Leica lenses. But if you like harsh color Nikon lenses (yuck) get Nikon. :p

I had the DA 17-70mm for a while but replaced with 16-45mm immediately, Never had one but DA* 16-50mm is the best among these three, I've been told.

So a digital camera is a just a peripheral device of the computers, it is the lenses that'll make you get results as you wish.

Good luck with your choice.
