Have you ever used C/N?
C/N are not top quality? Not sure how you get these 99%, maybe for you , not for me, the main reason I switched to Canon is because top quality lens availability ........ I don`t wanna start another thread about upcoming DA 60-250 , but my EF 70-200 IS makes me very happy....... and cheaper then 60-250 .
Agree! But lenses are crucial in the whole system.......

Apples and oranges my friend....... f/2.8 vs f/4 , FYI 70-200 f/4.0 IS is around $1000, non IS is $600......... go figure..........

Weathersealed ? Special technology???? Hmmm........cutting a thread on a barrel for a piece of rubber doesn`t sound like rocket science to me.
Probably the most overrated feature which should cost no more than $30 per lens........

Ask thousands and thousands of people who bought Sigma if it`s flawed or not........
It`s not just Sigma, what about Tamron 17-50 and 28-75, brilliant $300 lenses........
Or you wanna compare DA 60-250 to Canon 70-200 .........

Well, how do you expect Pentax to turn some profit, for example, with DA17-70, remember the lens was initially $600 , compared to Sigma 17-70, double the price. They can turn profit for sure in case they sell it in large quantities....... but the question is, who is gonna buy it for that price?
Also, DA 60-250 is supposed to be $1400!!! Who is gonna buy it? Not me for sure........

Not really when it comes to lenses, Pentax made some mistakes, especially with DA16-50, also, the whole story about DA60-250 is not promising at all. That`s the main reason I switched to Canon.
Pentax probably makes the best bodies in its classes but that`s not enough. I wish I could mount EF 70-200 f/4 IS on K10 ......... in my dreams only........
Pentax is a great choice for someone oriented to primes only, but I am not.

As far as I can see, there is a slight back focus on the second sample. "In the" before word Park is in focus........
One more thing, when you do this test, always use first aperture , 2.8 , 4.0 , whatever it is.........

Well, EF 70-200 f/4 is around $600 , IS (4 stop) version $1000 as well as f/2.8 NON IS, f/2.8 IS around $1500 ............ go figure.
f/4 IS is probably the best zoom lens ever made .......

Speaking of Tamron , at B&H 17-50mm is US$440 , at CameraCanada CAD$417 ........ exchange rate 1US$=1.17CAD$
