It's time to say goodbye?

I totally disagree with what I hear here.

Yes, of course, people taking their own pictures with their Iphone or other cellular have a very negative impact on professional activity.
Nevertheless this is, in my opinion, just the result of progress. But if you look closely to what happened with the sound...

Bakelite records, then vinyl, then tape, then HQ disc, mp3, a.s.o. There is absolutely NO DOUBT about this: if you listen to digital, then numeric music you hear the difference.
In the same idea, if you look at argentic pictures and numeric ones, you see the difference. And taking picture with an Iphone or an "obsolete" Pentax, Nikon, Canon, Leica, you name it, you will catch what is industrial and what is artisanal. An there will be customers of artisanal work FOR EVER. Because it is pure, genuine art.

Perfection is boring, and all I see on tiktok , these perfect photoshopped pictures, will die slowly. Just imagine what Kardachian will look like in twenty years without photoshop!
People have to understand that there is no perfection without scratch. And old Ladies may be fantastic models for pictures with their wrikles. THis does not depend on your camera, but on your talent.

So sad, Tony Northrup, that you feel obsolete. YOU ARE NOT, and have to be sure of that.

There is no reason for third party to go on such a narrow market. We all know that.

However, a huge improvement for Pentax would be to add a D-fa 20mm for professionals. This absence of wide-angle for high end FF is very disappointing.
Why should I get an old tired 20mm, or adjust some other brand lens to fit on a K1? This is insane!

If I leave Pentax one day, this will be why.

Surprised that this lens is not in the list of D-FA zooms (15-30, 24-70, 70-200, 150-450).

The D-FA 28-105mm is so useful! The quality is very close to the other zooms of the list.

Pro: It covers quite all needs you may encounter. No need to buy and carry a lot of lenses. This is unbelievable!
Con:As well, it covers quite all needs you may encounter. No need to buy and carry a lot of lenses. This is sooo frustrating !!!

In fact, since I got mine, I first realised that its range covers entirely the " three Princess " FA primes. So exit these Limited lens...
Then after, i also noticed the same for D-FA primes, which is also greatly in it's shade...

So, to the exception of lenses from 200mm and above, this zoom 28-105mm seems to be an incredible umbrella over all of those lens.

Hello EveryOne!

My name is Roland, I am a 70 years "old fellow" joining the community. I am a french guy living in Florida. I just bought a Pentax K1 mkII with a FA 28-105mm lens, to fulfill my dream ...
I was dreaming of it since the K1 came on the market. A while ago.
Now, as many, fox, I am stuck in this pandemy, volontarily confined and take advantage of this situation to reorganize my daily life. I just want to spend more time to shoot pictures, shoot and shoot again! Life is too short, I should have had changed it looong ago !
Please take care : protect yourself, wear a mask!

I wish you the best!
