New A lens acquired, and this one is a special one. SMC A* 135mm f1.8. I found it listed on market place for 550 with the description of not reaching infinity. Wow, this thing is ROUGH. There are dings and scuffs on the front element, some fungus getting started deeper inside and the forementioned lack of infinity. I paid 500, and I hope to have it serviced next month, but of course I'm shooting with it anyways!

I recently picked up a SMC-A 400mm f5.6 for 59 bucks on ebay and I've enjoyed getting birds in my viewfinder through that!

I just acquired my first A series lens. I got a steal of a deal on a 400mm f5.6 that was allegedly sent back by the last buyer for having a scratched front element. $59 on ebay. I wiped the front element clean and there was no apparent damage to the front element. I think it has some cleaning marks. Anyways, here's some of my favorites from the half a dozen times I've gone out with it since I got it last week. Also, sorry, I'm bad at picking favorites so it's a lot. ^^;;

I recommended that my friend get a Takumar 200mm F3.5 and asked to take it for a spin. Mine was pretty rough and the aperture went ahead and sprung apart on me last year. His was a lot nicer and I dare say a bit sharper wide open, or perhaps just easier to focus.

I got an early start wandering around Seattle this morning. Here's what I saw through the Takumar 58mm F2. I can't seem to leave the house without this one in my bag lately, and it often sees more mount time than my pair of limited ( 31 and 77)

So, if you look at the entry for the 55mm f1.8 it covers all of them. Included you will see a photo of the zebra version. It doesn't really reference it as a zebra on that page though, so I can see it being frustrating.
I got all of my older/rarer Takumar lenses from Japan.

Focusing is really hit or miss it seems. Maybe if I spend more time with it I'll have better results, but it doesn't seem to have much resolving power. It was 50 dollars, so I'm not disappointed haha.
