I was pursuing a Q but found an MX-1 at a price I could not pass up and glad I did. It fills the point and shoot hole in my arsenal without continuing to fuel LBA into a new lens system. Approaching it that way helped me out a lot. In other words, do you want to continue to acquire even more lenses and increase fiddle-factor with your kit? Or would you prefer filling that role with a fixed lens zoom point and shoot that fills that niche without the extreme flexibility and fiddling fun? Q probably has more fun factor, while the MX-1 has a better "complete package" feel to it. At least that is how I have seen it so far. Don't you people change my mind!

Ding-ding! She is indeed a Buff Orpington. Friendliest one in the bunch, always ready to get carried around!

This is my first year raising chickens, and it really is amazing how curious these feathered friends really are. This teenager is about 15 weeks in the photo, and her name is Barley. ---------- Post added 08-16-23 at 10:55 PM ---------- Whoops, I meant to put this in pets or nature, not abstract! All well :o

I know this may be something obvious, and I am not trying to belittle or anything, but have you checked the AF/MF switch found on the side of the lens mount?
Also, is this occurring on just one lens or everything?

Before I broke it, my Vivitar Series 1 28-90mm f2.8-3.5 was pretty great! They have aperture oil issues though, so if you buy one make sure it has a clean aperture. It is a fully manual lens, though.

I tend to prioritize my activities while I'm out and about, so I make the rest of my kit as light as practical for me and bring the activity equipment I want (like cameras and lenses) without worrying about weight as much (to a point anyway). So I'd say bring whatever camera setup gives you the most satisfactory product. Most of my hobbies are very heavy (it's in my name!), so maybe I'm just used to lugging around more than the average bear. Lenses are a little lighter than hammers and prybars :D

I use the peak design slide and clutch with both my KP and K1mkII (which are quite dear to me) and I have not had any oopsies with the loopies. I have gone on many birding hikes with my KP with battery grip, 1.4x teleconverter and DA*300 with no appreciably concerning wear on the loopies. When I first got the clutch I was somewhat wary about the connectors, but after so much use, I realize that the connectors really don't have a chance to abrade and weaken when most of the time they are either just dangling from the studs, or suspended between the camera and strap while in use. Not a whole lot of opportunity for the thin cord to be abraded by much when they rarely contact anything besides skin/cloth on occasion in the first place.

On occasion if I find a still landscape scene that I really enjoy, I will take a pixelshift image. I take the image in RAW and process it using Rawtherapee, which supports pixelshift images from Pentax. I find the outcome to be nice. I have only done so on my KP, though, as I have not had time yet to explore that feature on my newly acquired K1mkII. I find pixelshift to be a desirable feature, especially since it is a relatively easy additional software feature implementing hardware that we already expect (in-body stabilization).

Great capture, very dramatic. The green cast could be from a variety of things, but generally if it's suspended sulfur in native form, it gives water a whitish, bright milky appearance. I am a geologist currently in the remediation field, and live quite close to the Berkeley Pit :D

A black and white photo of the coves at Cape Flattery, the most northwestern point of the lower 48. The morning sun streamed through on a cloudy day at the right moment to get this capture. Note: the aperture is f13 but there is no option for it in the drop down menu for the post.

How about the MX-1? I love mine. Prices have climbed though.
Edit: whoops got lost in the sauce and forgot you already said MX-1!

I like taking pictures as a creative outlet and at whatever aperture that makes me happy in the moment. I think I tend to have the aperture in the f4 to f11 range though, occasionally diving either up or down :)
