The rest of the family was bummed that we didn't have bright, sunny weather for our trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. I was thrilled with the conditions!

I think this is the best pano I've ever shot. In fairness, when you have scenery and skies like this, it's kinda like cheating...
K20D, Sigma 70-200 EX DG at 70mm, F/11, 1/6 sec, iso 100, 6 shots merged in Lightroom.

Just an intimate image of a couple of spiders hanging out together in some amazing green light. Gotta love the way Pentax renders greens!

Thanks! Yeah, it definitely happened with this one, though not as badly as others that I've uploaded. I suspect you're right... I'm going to watch my file size from now on and see if that helps.

It's easy - seductive even- to go for the wide, epic panorama in an attempt to capture the whole view. I've been pushing myself to try to look closer, to try to find smaller compositions within the greater landscape. I'm not sure how successful I've been, but I kinda like this image nonetheless. Thoughts?
P.S. I've noticed that most of my images seem less luminous and a bit... muddy.. when they get uploaded here. Any suggestions for how to better prep images for upload here would be welcome!

Thank you! The camera and lens worked brilliantly. The photographer got thoroughly soaked.

It rained today in Chapel Hill. Kind of a lot. So I took advantage of the weather to get some separation between the vegetation island and the background.
I think I'm pretty happy with the result. What do y'all think?
K20D, DA* 55mm 1.4; f/11, 6 stop ND, 3 sec.; 5 image pano followed by a 16x9 crop.

Ha! I guess it must be the busy season for them. Nice shot! I like the misty looking background a lot. ---------- Post added 05-16-21 at 05:45 PM ----------
Thank you! I was pleasantly surprised by how well this came out, since I was set up for long-ish exposure landscape shots. This guy popped up, and I just kinda swung the camera around on the tripod to grab the shot.

I was out doing some landscape work, but this guy decided to crash the scene. So, naturally, I had to take advantage.

Sorry... braindead moment. I did get a new DA 35mm 2.4, not a ltd. I think I'll be keeping the new lens, but if at all possible, I'd like to help the seller out. He's been really understanding and accommodating. I'm really confused as to why the lens would work on the K5, but not the K20.

Stunning! I love the smooth, long-exposure effect in the clouds, and the way the foreground rocks lead the eye into the image. Fantastic work!

Update: The new DA 35mm ltd from Amazon works as expected on all three camera bodies, which leads me to believe that the problem is with the particular copy of the lens that I bought secondhand. I'd still like to sort this out to help the seller, so any advice or thoughts are welcome!

Yep, all of my other lenses (a DA* 55mm 1.4, the kit lens from the K100, and three Sigma DG's) work perfectly on those cameras. I have a brand new DA 35mm set to be delivered from Amazon today, so I'll be able to try it out to see if the problem is with this copy of the lens, or a problem with the older bodies.
I feel bad about the ebay transaction, though, since the seller has already refunded my money and told me not to bother returning the lens since it seems to be broken. I'd like to figure out how to make it work on the older bodies (if possible), return the Amazon lens, and give the money back to the seller. Otherwise, my plan is to try to sell the lens to someone with a newer body (especially if I can do it local and verify that the lens works on the body) and give the money to the seller.

It is on the K20, not on the K100, and unsure about my friend's K5.

So, here's an interesting wrinkle in the story. The lens works fine on my friend's K5, but not on my K20D or K100. Any thoughts?

Yeah, it's going back. Thanks for the input, everyone! What a shame... the only thing I can figure (wanting to believe the best of the seller) is that USPS tossed it around too hard in transit.
In case anyone is in the market for a DA 35 2.4, Amazon has a few of them on hand for $127 (though, their stock is one fewer than they had earlier tonight).

Oh, this highlighted another symptom. The camera won't enter optical preview mode with the lens attached. ---------- Post added 05-12-21 at 03:46 PM ----------
Yep, definitely in AF mode. I have played with it in MF mode, too, and the camera will not detect focus, even when the scene is visibly in focus. ---------- Post added 05-12-21 at 03:51 PM ----------
That does seem to be the way this is heading...
