Ah shame but thank you for letting me know. I am in the US often though. What is his address, I could then do it from there. Regarding the man auto switch, did you mean to include a link?

That is a really good idea! May I ask how you adjusted the needle or who did it for you? So many thanks.

Re: auto/man, if e.g. auto is visible, does that mean the camera is in auto mode?

Thank you all for your kind help!

I had it serviced right away when I received it. The issue was there before it though, because I was always amazed at how little light the camera seems to require and mistakenly attributed it to its being medium format.

Pentax 6x7 prism light meter too light sensitive -- suggesting underexposures?

Hello all!

When metering with my prism light meter in auto mode, the meter consistently wants me to underexpose my pictures by 4ish stops. I resorted to manually metering and learned I have to disregards the light meter reading altogether. The body (minus prism and lens) received a full service recently.

Normally, I expect for light meters to become less sensitive not more sensitive over time and am very confused about this. Did anyone experience anything like this?

Thank you and best wishes!

Jerome

Recommendation to try lenses

Hi!
I shoot Pentax SLR on film. However to try and learn more about the lenses I have I was thinking of using a digital camera. We have a super takumar as well as quite a few prime lenses and a third party one, too, and they each have their quirks. I'm finding out more and more about them as we go through the rolls but to really study them I'd thought it would be wiser to try and make some digital photos as well. My main medium of photography will always be film though. Do you guys have good recommendations for a model that has the K mount and has decent enough quality to really see what the lenses are capable of? Thank you so much!

This picture is not a complete lineup as our Pentax gear is a bit scattered at the moment, with the 6x7 being on loan to our friend to create portraits, but here is a nice reflection I captured using an SMC 50mm 1.7 lens on the KX, with the f2.8 28mm, 35mm as well as the 135mm 3.5 lenses. The bigger one is a Revuenon Zoom lens35-70mm 2.8-3.8 lens, that was included with the purchase of the Pentax ones just mentioned.

I shall post more photos, particularly one I took with the 300mm super Takumar 3.5, where I would love to get some comments and help on how to make them better.

Oh, and this was the first try-out image on a roll of Portra 400.

Apple trees only blossom for a short period each year. I was happy to get this shot of blossom at sunset on Kodak Portra 400. This photo was for my mother so that she could see the blossom while she was in hospital.

Hi there! I am wondering if beyond the book on the LX system mentioned earlier, other written resources exist for the LX? I have seen quite a few books released on individual cameras / camera systems.
