K1 is perfect even if the AF is imperfect.
Was showing it to another bird photographer yesterday. I had the DA 300mm on and she was very impressed with how light the whole rig was compared to her monster Nikon FF and equally monster Nikon 500mm zoom. The controls on that camera were very nonn user friendly. The wheels on the K1 are wonderfully easy and fast to use.

There is vignetting but you get a decent image that is larger than an APSC crop.

There has never been a single case of buyer regret after somebody buying the FA 77mm F1.8.
It really is that good.
I doubt there has ever been a case of buyer regret after buying the DA 100mm F2.8 macro.

I have a TG5, which so far has only been underwater without an SD card in it.
Love it on land. Would recommend it even just as a dry land camera.
Was planning to give it lots of time underwater this summer and I got Covid - and a cough - instead.
Pretty sure you wouldn't go wrong with a TG6.

If you shoot birds and other wildlife, you probably don't want mirrorless.
You probably DO want a K3iii paired with a DA 300mm F4 if you can run to it.

I have a K! and intend to add a K3iii to my kit. I had a K3ii, which I reluctantly parted with. If the K3iii is even better than the K3ii, then I want one.

I upgraded from the K100D to the K7 and the improvement in image quality was astonishing.
I'm told the K5 was even better.

To get the best possible images from your K1 you should stick it on the best tripod you can afford when taking tripod supported shots. It isn't a light camera so flimsy tripods don't do it justice.

Hebes are a large family of shrubs native to Aoteoroa / NZ and other parts of the Pacific. One of my favourite plants in my front garden.

I have seen some fab photos taken with the P900. Good for birding when you want to go light.
I actually see myself adding a medium format camera to my collection before getting a bridge camera but I do think they are good.

If you haven't used your kitchen sink for reflected light on flowers etc, then it is time you started.
BTW: If anyone can iID the flower, that would be great.

Shot in my sunroom against a piece of black cardboard. Side widow light. Played with green and yellow luminance in B&W conversion in PS.

I find converting images to B&W a great challenge.
My early efforts to convert to B&W produced mostly dull murky messes.
But I persisted.

Yep
You don't want to go wider than 50mm, even on APSC, or you will get unflattering distortions on head and shoulder portraiture.
The FA 77mm Ltd is hard to go past for protraits on either APSC or FF.

July in Melbourne is usually grey and drizzly so icy with blue skies is a real novelty and it wasn't oo hard to get out of bed. That said, Spring usually starts in early August here and I will be really annoyed if Winter is extended.
