Forum: Contest Voting

On a certain Polish forumPhoto, we have a contest of the month. In the voting we use a google poll, where we have the opportunity to vote for each photo. Each photo, in addition to your own, we rate p[odobienić from school grades, with a number from 1 to 5 instead of A to E, we add up the number of points that the work collected, then divide the sum by the number of votes cast, thus obtaining an average. Example: If a work gets a total of 40 votes and 12 people voted for the work: 40 ÷ 12 = 3.33. To make it look clearer, we move the comma by two places getting 333 points. In the results we give how many points each work has collected, from the largest, i.e. first place, to the last.

If you wonder why we drove through the river bed, the last heavy rain had flushed the foundations of the pilars away...

Though we've been through Chama a number of times on our way east or west (the visitor center makes for a great pit stop), we've yet to take the train from there. Only from Antonito have we ridden it. That is truly beautiful country, especially the pass over the NM-CO border.
Put out to pasture in Antonito...

In retrospect, the logical approach would be to shoot max quality jpeg and raw at the same time, and junk the raw if you are satisfied with the jpeg. That way those prone to gross errors have the optimum recovery backup if they need it.
Anything they fix with the raw they can then save as jpeg

The K200D is my first Pentax camera. It has a CCD matrix. The limitations are known: ISO max 400, but preferably 100. But this matrix gives fanatastic colors even JPEG

I'm giving the robins a break and taking some shots of the Ruby Throated Hummingbird that come to the feeder every 15 minutes or so. These were taken with the Pentax 55-300 lens at around 150mm A flash was used..--charliezap.

Back in the era before digital, and the net result is still used today, the definition of acceptably sharp (for both depth of field and camera shake) was that a point of light was something that was 0.01 inch or smaller on an 8 inch by 10 inch print from a full frame negative.
At 300 dpi, there will be 9 pixels within that 0.01 inch dot. The K3 sensor is 6016 pixels across 23.7 mm (horizontal frame). Holding 300 dpi for a print will limit you practically to a 19x13 print, but you don’t look at that print the same as you would an 8x10, so yes, printing at lower resolution you can print even larger, because you will step back somewhat to view the print.
Just to focus the issue a little (pun intended) the 4k video format is 3840 x 2160 pixels. I don’t see people complaining about the quality of their 4K - 65 inch TVs and the resulting 67dpi  At that resolution you can print basically your entire wall with the output from a 24mp camera.
The bigger issue is going to be when you crop down the image. But you can also resample by about 1:2 and still get a good quality image

It sounds like your copy was de-centered. When stopped down, all incarnations of the 18-55 are reasonably capable, especially the "II" versions... nothing to challenge a really good prime or higher-end zoom, but respectable nonetheless...
