I've been using this camera for client work for several months now and love it. Starting a few weeks ago, each time I turn my camera on it reads normal, but completely zooms in on its own. I would mess with the zoom a little bit and it would eventually come back in. Now, when i attempt to bring the zoom in, it is immediately reading "E 93", not 9E as I have seen on some Google searches. Just hours later, it is now reading 97. It was doing this for a few weeks, but I was always able to bring the lens back in and still use the camera just fine. As of three days ago, I can no longer use the camera at all :(
I changed out the batteries with batteries from a camera I no longer use and should be good still, but no luck. Haven't ruled new batteries completely out, but I'm in the middle of nowhere and haven't had a chance to buy brand new ones just yet.
Now that I can't use the camera at all, since it just blinks E at me, I would really like some insight since I didn't see anything about E 93 or 97 online so far. Maybe I am reading the error messages wrong. I understand that these old P&Ss wear out, but I'm hoping someone has some suggestions before having to buy another camera.
Please help if you can!!

Natalie here with an account now. Thank you for that. It is appearing a bit bent a couple inches in. I tried flattening it and even trying other rolls but that doesn't seem to do the trick. I think I will have to get a new one after I at least attempt to have someone at a local store look at it.
