YES YES YES and the same happens with nikon setup (d800 and nissin 866II which is listed as compatible) I am not very interested in PTTL automatic flash mode, or iTTL, What I am after is manual power control 1/129, 1/64, 1/32 etc, with hss from the cactus unit attached to the camera and cross branding. Once I set everything up the output is around half the power of the power given by flash set manually (via cactus v4) Its worse in nikon setup - the flash contribution is barely visible. And to avoid confusion camera shutter is set to non hss range, like 1/125s.
no its really gold plated
Yes, I did it before we start chatting here, tried different metz profiles as well
no I don't, only output on my camera screen.... to asses exposure - if you would like to I can measure the difference in ev if it would help with anything.
WE'v got serious terminology issues here.... ---------- Post added 05-25-2018 at 01:03 PM ----------
there is only one firmware available for this model with pentax mount ---------- Post added 05-25-2018 at 01:06 PM ----------
that was the most confusing part of the manual for me (page 17) it doesn't clearly say that passthrough refers only to the flash attached to the trigger on top of the camera

I finally had the occasion to put the K-3's Weather Resistance to the test! I was at my brother-in-law's place in the countryside. The rain was just pouring, but I went out in the backyard and spotted a creature I'd never seen before. Well, I had to shoot it! I stuck the umbrella shaft into my fleece jacket and rested the umbrella on top of my head to have both hands free while still avoiding getting completely soaked. I would not have done this in a public park - must have been quite the sight! Anyway, the camera, lens and flash still got drenched in the 30 minutes it took to get this focus stack - the (circa 8mm) leafhopper was pretty shy at first. I'm surprised the (non-WR) flash survived! The camera and lens were, of course, fine. Leafhopper in the Rain by Pascal Gaudette, on Flickr

My suggestion (if you didn't already invested in speedlights) is to buy a powerful flash, like Godox AD360, rather than using 4 speedlights. Why? Because:
- you can use the Godox flash with any modifier from Bowens or Elinchrom (beauty dish, reflectors, etc.)
- it's more portable than 4 flashes
- the battery from AD360 is going to last a lot more than AA batteries
- the recycle time is faster with AD360
- the quantity of light stays the same each time you press the shutter; with sppedlights there is always the posibility that one flash will not fire or one of them will not recycle as fast as the others.
The main advantage of 4 speedligths vs. 1 Godox AD360 is related to lighting options. If you don't need the power of AD360, with 4 flashes you can have more options and flexibility to create a lot of setups.
