Hi Derridale,
Regarding Picasa, you don't really need it. The iLife suite is bundled with the MB's and already includes iPhoto that is very similar to Picasa regarding editing.
iPhoto is a very simple and useful application.
What you can do is download the Picasa Uploader for Mac in order to upload your photos to Picasa Web Albuns ( Picasa Web Albums )
