All interesting information. Thanks

I mounted it with my K&F adapter and used it a couple of weeks ago. Nice pictures. The only difficult was the focus ring gets a little hard to work moving toward infinity.

Anyone else have this problem?

From what I was told and what over read here and on other forums it’s more a pin that gets pushed in so you can use the aperture control on the lens. When the lens arrives I’ll take some pictures.

Hoping someone can help.

I have purchased my first Takumar lens. It’s a Super Takumar 50mm 1.4, 8 element version. It should be here in next few days. I am currently looking for an M42 to Sony E mount for this lens. I’ve read that this can be a tricky thing to work out. A gentleman in a local camera shop has recommended I cut of an protruding tab that prevents it from work with my current K&F adapter.

I definitely do not want to go that route. Can anyone recommend an adapter that they know works. I’m also a little fuzzy on the whole flange no flange issue when it comes to adapters and what the reasons for needing a flange are. So any help their would be appreciated.

Thanks
Russ.

Any new developments in adaptors for the Super Takumar 50 1.4, 8 element version?

I am looking for an M42 to Sony E mount for my A7C. Would appreciate any advice. I am confused about the flange vs no flange aspect of the adapter as it specifically relates to the Super Takumar. One guy at a local shop state I could just cut the problematic pin off the lens. I have no desire to damage the lens though.

Any help would be appreciated.

Russ

Hey I’m in Dewitt. Looking forward to fall and Halloween for all the subjects to shoot.

Nice shot. I’m working on getting a Super Muti Coated 50mm F/1.4 right now. Finding one in good shape is more difficult than I thought. I’ve come across quite a few of the SMC versions but have been lead to believe the earlier version is a little sharper. Might just try and a Super Takumar 50 or the SMC 1.2 if nothing turns up in a week or so.

What’s your take on the 1.4 versions?

Been lurking on and off this forum for years. Recently left Nikon for a Sony A7C Mirrorless. One of my big reasons for picking the A7C other than small full frame, was the ease of adapting vintage lenses. Sony’s lenses are great but I like a vintage vibe with lots of my pictures and the A7Cs excellent focus peeking makes that easy.

I so far I’ve purchased the new 28-60mm compact zoom and their Zeiss 35mm 2.8 (it’s the best compact lens they make).

I have currently been hunting for a fast 50mm. After looking at the Nikkor 1.2 and 1.4 and various Russian lenses. I came across a Super Takumar 50mm 1.4. Beautiful lens.

The gentleman that owned it was in the process of completing a Pentax set that included the 50mm, an 85mm, a 135mm and 200mm. He was older and unfortunately after talking for awhile I am even more confused about Pentax lenses.

I do know however that they will be my first stop for new to me vintage lenses. The images his lenses produced were stunning. He was shooting on an older a6400 so he had the advantage of cropping the corners but from what I’ve seen of the full images here and elsewhere still stunning.

So here I am now combing through all the posts here formulating questions for my own posts.

Thanks
Russ
