Unless the body is inoperable, better to purchase the open box and privately sell, or keep as a backup.
That's my thoughts on it.

I debated the question coming from the k-5. I chose the K-3 iii because it uses the same battery where the k70 does not. otherwise I may have chosen differently.

If Canon, Nikon, or whoever are moving to MILC, there are reasons. I would say mainly financial, due to resource issues, market changes, or technology advancements. That may make some resources for Pentax become available in the short run. Pentax may just be at the same decision in the future. I never had a K-01, but did have a Q or 2. many nice things about it. I only had 2 complaints, battery life and no viewfinder other than live view. Okay, the third was that it's not in production. I came to want a K-01 too late and haven't found one that met my price tag. For the Q, I wish it had an EVF. Too many bright days do I wish I could use a EVF when live view is unusable.
Ricoh may have to make that move sometime.

I saw that and picked one up as well. Paid the expedited shipping so it can be a birthday present.

Well I wasn't too interested in the k-01 until having the Q. Using the Q showed me some of the advantages. Now I want a K-01, but waited too long. I now have K-3 version so the k-01 is on hold again.

I have 3. 1 q-s1 that I use. 2 Q, the spouse uses one and the other has not powered on (stopped) for some time now. It's a paperweight currently.
