I've only just bought my K-S2, having Owned a K-50, K-70 and K-3 and I'm very impressed. What a good sensor. I'm really sad it's no longer being used. I'll keep this camera going for as long as I can

This is something I'd be very interested in. I have a K-3 and love the look of some of the new tech in the mark 3 but can't justify a full upgrade. Unfortunately, hearing some of the whispers coming out of Ricoh, I'm not sure they're interested in trying for an entry market anymore but it would be fun to get just one more.
What do others think about this?

Stupid Me Alert!
For all these years I've wondered why I liked the pictures from my first, 3.2 megapixel, digital camera so much. It had a CCD! I'm not the most technical photographer, so these things tend to pass me by. These pictures are wonderful and just as I remember from all those years ago.
Edit: I've just looked it up and it was the "Olympus Camedia 310 Zoom". Awful battery life and dodgy lens but the pictures were still lovely!

I wasn't sure where to put it, so I went as general as possible but yes, I agree with your suggestions.

Hi everybody,
I'm not exactly new to Pentax but I haven't shot with a Pentax camera for a while and I have to say, in spite of negative talk about the jpeg output, I couldn't be happier with them. For my sins, I am 90% jpeg and only use the RAW files if I've made a big mistake or if I'm shooting for something major. I have used Canon, Lumix, Olympus & Fuji in my time using digital and for whatever reason Pentax shots have a magic about them straight out of camera. I find there's a very natural look to the colours in my Pentax shots as well as a lovely soft contrast (without looking flat). Yes they might have the immediate pop of Fuji or Olympus but often I think those pictures can look overdone.
Not sure why I'm even posting this, other than to give some balance to the “just shoot RAW” brigade I often find on these forums.
My jpeg settings are really simple – Natural with +1 colour and contrast and extra fine sharpening. I don't pixel peep, so I don't care about artefacts that might show at 200%. For printing and general use online I couldn't be happier.

Welcome! I hope you enjoy your new camera. The K70 is a sweet one. Take lots of pictures, even if it's just indoors. It'll help you get used to everything, so you're quicker in the real world.

15,186 but I haven't owned it for long. It was around 14000 when I bought it.
