Hey all,
Sorry for the delays in getting back to everybody. I was out for much of the weekend and then fought a brief, but losing battle against a sinus infection that I thought was on it's way out. One walk-in clinic and first dose of Z-Pak later and I think I might live.
Anyway, I've responded to Maclure that I'll hold the lens for a day for him in case he's foolish enough to challenge his wife's claim on the money. Assuming that doesn't happen, I'll go through the pm's and postings here to determine pecking order.
Also, I've got a 2nd 50-200 for which I'm the original owner. I haven't used that one since getting the 50-135 a couple years ago, so I need to pull it off the shelf and assess it, but I can make it a priority.

Pentax F 17-28 Fisheye

Item Description
SMC Pentax-F Fisheye 1:3.5-4.5 17-28mm. I could have listed this as "Excellent", but there's a tiny amount of discoloration of the SMC coating at the extreme edge of the glass, where it meets the barrel. Not easy to see and it took me a couple shots to get it visible in the pictures below. Otherwise, lens is excellent mechanically, optically and cosmetically.
This is an F lens, so in addition to APS-C cameras, it will also fit a film camera or a FF digital if and when that comes to pass.
As a fisheye, it's noticeably wider than a rectilinear lens at same focal length. in the samples below, The 17-28 at 17mm is much wider than the DA 16-45 at 16mm. I'd estimate that this lens at 17mm is roughly equivalent to 13-14mm on standard lens.
Sharp and good color. Distortion is not as pronounced as the 10-17mm.

Item Description
Pentax M28/3.5 with broken aperture lever. Glass and cosmetics are excellent. Aperture is wide open and stays there regardless of aperture ring setting. Aperture lever moves, but not as it's supposed to. Instead of sliding back and forth staying perpendicular to the mount, it freely pivots like the hand on a watch. There's also something loose in the aperture area that you can hear rattling around.
This lens usually goes for around $90, so if you're happy shooting wide open or feel up to the mechanical challenge of fixing the aperture, you can get what is arguably the sharpest 28mm Pentax ever made for 1/3 of the normal value.
Includes front and rear caps and a Tiffen 49mm Sky 1-A filter.

The original lens cap is beautifully machined, a perfect match for this lens, but it screws on which can slow things down. You get the original Pentax but also the push on so you can use whichever one you want.
