yes - a good camera with k5 genes.
i like to equip them with the limited lens 40 mm 2,8. - this combination is ideal for the street.

focusing using focus-peaking is ingeniously simple.
the only thing that really annoys me: the lack of a simple lock for the shutter! an article in the cent range!
when you take it out of your pocket or backpack it is already switched on so often.
that's just rubbish!

ah - manymany thanks for the replies and suggestions so far!

in the af mode the prestige works fine.
in the mf mode the af motor whirrs like a food processor.

1) when using a lens with an af/mf switch, the af works without any problems if the switch on the lens and body is set to af.
2) when using a lens with an af/mf switch, the camera focuses via af if the switch on the lens is set to af and the switch on the body to mf.

seems to be a switch problem on the body.
hargh...

thx folks!

hello pentaxians,

have 2 pentax k3-bodies (prestige & silver) w identical firmware 1.43.
both cameras are set up identically.
when switching af/mf on body, one camera (the silver) reacts normally and shows af/mf on backmonitor.
the other one (the prestige) does not show the mf-mode on backmonitor. (see pics)

i hope I could explain my problem.

i've reloaded the firmware in the prestige several times - with no change.

are there any ideas?

thx!

~~~
strangely enough, this 2nd body (the prestige) works normally w lenses w an af/mf switch.
