I love the lens, and it gets great shots, but I have only ever used it on a tripod. Perhaps I am older than the average user. It is heavy. (I used it earlier today, as it happens . . .)

At the end of last year and beginning of this year I shot a variety of flowers in both color and black and white. I often used a different camera/lens combo for each. This one was envisioned as black and white from the start.

I finally decided to join the forum. I have been using Pentax cameras since the early 80s, never deviating from the brand when considering SLRs and DSLRs. (Point and shoots and TLRs are a different story.) I currently use a K3 with vintage lenses, a K1, and a K3 iii. I have some old film cameras collecting dust, including an ancient K1000 (an all metal one from the 70s), a ZX-7, and a ZX-L. All are exceptionally fine cameras, and I now have a big enough assortment of lenses that it is hard to see me switching brands. I can see adding a new system, especially since I now want to go medium format more than ever, but for APS/FF shooting, I am a Pentax guy. And besides, with those small camera bodies and lenses (I'm looking at you limited series lenses), how can one not have fun shooting with Pentax gear?

I am a second generation Pentax user, and my son is a third generation Pentax user. He converted a couple of his friends to using Pentax DSLRs, which they like because of the vast, affordable used lens population available on eBay, Facebook marketplace (sometimes), and elsewhere. Aside from this small group of five people, I know no Pentax users in the real world.
